Welcome Sign?

I debating if I want to have a welcome sign made for our big day. I have heard mixed reviews on them. Honestly, I don't really care if we have one or not but wasn't sure if I was the only one to feel that way? How many of you are having one?

I think it’s a great idea to have a sign, the sign can make the entrance of the venue significantly more appealing. With having your own special touch. I just DIY my own. It costs a total of $30 for all the supplies and everything

I'm not having one. I would likely never touch it again and I didn't see the point in buying a sign for an event people will automatically know why they're there for.

I didn't think we needed one but kind of freaked while looking at some of the beautiful welcome signs posted here. In the end we decided they are completely unnecessary. But it's all up to you and what you want.

I plan on making one myself on a piece of acrylic / plexiglass using a chalk marker (luckily i taught myself how to do modern calligraphy so i might as well take advantage of that!)

I took a painting out of the frame that we already had, printed the letters and taped them on the front, then traced the letters on the backside with acrylic paint Smiley smile

We are having one but It's definitely not needed so if you have extra room in the budget go for it but if not its ok too. At the end of the day guests aren't going to remember if you had a welcome sign or not.

    This is ours.

I was back and forth on whether or not to have one..FH doesn't really care either way about most things. Haha. After reading a post in here say they're good for places with multiple events going on at the same time..ive been swayed to having one. I have a silhouette and so much vinyl it's ridiculous. So I'll be making ours.

I had a welcome sign I made from a large floor length mirror that I got when a friend's neighbor was moving. I attempted to hand letter, but I ended up ordering an acrylic window cling that had my design printed on it! It was very easy. Since I had a lot of room to work with, I also had the day's events on the mirror

I didn't want to spend money on programs, so I made a welcome sign that also listed our parents and bridal party. I knew I wanted a sign, but I so wish I would've just ordered one instead.

I felt very strongly about having one, but now that it's getting closer and I have some other signs that I want to make, I'm leaning towards skipping it. Unless I end up having time to do a cheap DIY.

So I wanted to do a themed wedding/reception because I want to be different instead of the same old traditional thing. The dresses and tuxes will be the same but the aura of the ceremony/party will be different. Long story short...we love to travel, so we're doing a travel themed reception. My last name will be Toney, the tables will have countries we want to visit instead of numbers, and there will be a sign like in the airport with everyone's names under their "country" with the heading "WELCOME ABOARD AIR TONEY." Baggage claim are the favors they will get at the end on their way out. I'm so excited! The sign will be placed in our family room to look at and remember the good times.

Where did you print your welcome sign and how did you do your seating chart on the back? That’s genius!
