Welcome Sign?

I debating if I want to have a welcome sign made for our big day. I have heard mixed reviews on them. Honestly, I don't really care if we have one or not but wasn't sure if I was the only one to feel that way? How many of you are having one?

We're not doing one. We just don't think it's going to be necessary. Our venue is at a local public golf course in our hometown. It's not that big of a place, and it's kind of obvious when you park where to go. Also, there won't be any other events going on that day, so I don't feel like our guests need that kind of direction. If we were doing it in a large hotel, with multiple ballrooms, etc., I would probably feel differently.

I used acrylic paint. It's a lot cleaner now than it was in that picture! --- It is also going to double as our guest book. Our guests will be encouraged to sign it.

I think it really depends on your venue! Is there any instruction needed about where to go? Is there any reason people wouldn’t know if they are in the right place? If not, I wouldn’t worry about it.

I made ours on canva. I highly recommend making it yourself and just having it printed through vista print. We love the quote so we will be keeping it and putting it up somewhere in our house.

We're not. We have nothing against them, we just want to spend more money elsewhere.

This is very encouraging to hear. Thank you for sharing. I know we likely won't hang it and I'd rather spend money elsewhere. Plus, I am trying to be as environmentally conscious as possible with this event. I wanted bubbles, but then realized that the containers and wands would end up in a landfill and I just don't want that.

We’ll be having one but it’s because I have a Cricut and will be doing it myself. Planning on using a vintage mirror since our venue is an old Victorian mansion.

I made one. It’s definitely not necessary but it was a nice touch! Mine was very easy too using a premade chalkboard, a decal from Etsy, and some silk flowers hot glued on.

I did not have one single sign at my wedding. They're not necessary. So if you're indifferent, might as well skip it.

Yeah it’s not something we would hang in our house either! Same reason we skipped a guest book. I only think they are necessary if you’re at a venue with multiple events going on at the same time and people need to know where to go. We rented out an entire winery for our wedding so there was no way our guests could be confused, if they were there it was for our wedding haha.

I made one because of our wedding being out of town. I made my own with some of my bridesmaids and it was a lot of fun! I want to use it in our house when we get one so it won’t go to waste.

Thank you so much for asking this. I'll try to do it cheap but if I can't, I wont. I dont know why I thought I did. Our venue is small and we're the only party. I think it's more for show. But thanks for saving me a lot of money lol.

Our wedding is all at one outdoor venue. If you leave the parking lot and got down the most obvious path, it goes to the reception area, not the ceremony site. It’s only 30 seconds down another path, but since there’s trees and such separating it a little bit, we’re putting a welcome sign up.
If it wasn’t for needing to make sure people know where they’re going, I think we’d skip one.

I dont think they are necessary. In comparison to other things, it is so small and no one will notice you dont have one.

I only had one because one of my vendors from decor and candle included in the package and it was free. I only had to include some flowers for it with my florist and I liked how it look. It was a nice first touch my guest encounter when arriving so I’m glad I did. I don’t know if I would have added if it wasn’t part of the package.
