Weird Thing Happened on My Wedding Day! a Sign?

Susan, on October 13, 2021 at 5:33 PM Posted in Married Life 3 19

Hey all!

I am BACK AND MARRIED! I got married on 10/10, just a few days ago. It was my dream wedding in all ways. I can't wait to share photos with you all.

But I also want to share a kind of weird thing that happened!

I was married once before--my first husband died very suddenly at age 38 of a brain aneurysm. I was only 36, and our daughter was 3. I went through seven years on my own and then I met the most wonderful guy. He's been so patient and understanding as I learned to fall in love again, while being very respectful of my late husband and his place in our lives, and I got to work with an awesome counselor as well, so I was as ready as I could be!

I was going through my things to do my something old/new/borrowed/blue and was kind of stressing over blue of all things. I had a charm bracelet I wanted to wear, and my new husband noticed that on it was a charm photo of me and my first husband, and my first husband's shirt in the picture was blue. So he suggested I count that as my something blue, and I thought it was very sweet and agreed.

We were married on a beautiful day Sunday, and after the ceremony, we walked back together to take a minute and enjoy ourselves and take a breath. Just as we got to the spot where we were going to take a rest, that charm of me and my first husband fell right off the bracelet. The rest of it (15+ charms) stayed in tact, but that charm fell off.

I felt like it was a sign. It was both weird and comforting. What do you think?

This was a super sweet thing to read! ❤️ Your now husband telling you to incorporate your first husband into your wedding through the charm bracelet, and a possible sign from our first husband telling you he approves of your new marriage. I'm glad to hear you got comfort from it! Congratulations on your new marriage!

Great story! I agree it is a sign your first husband is letting you know it’s ok to enter this new chapter. He knows he is in your heart and lives on through your daughter. I think he is happy knowing you two have a compassionate man who will look after you. All the best to you ❤️

I think it would be great to take that charm and put it on a bracelet for your daughter along with one of you and your new hubby.

I think I'm just overly emotional lately, but that story was beautiful and now I'm crying lol. I absolutely think that was a sign! Your first husband will always be a part of your life, but it seems to me he was telling you that he was there with you on that day, walking with you towards a new happiness and then decided to step away and allow you to have your moments at the perfect time.

I am so happy your new husband understands how important your first husband was (and always will be). That was incredibly sweet to read. And I think it’s a lovely sign from your husband that he loves you and your new husband. I feel like crying, this was so lovely. 🧡

What a story! It's beautiful from two sides. Your new husband allowed for your late one to be a part of your wedding, knowing he'll never replace him but instead welcomes him still as a part of your family. I think the charm falling was indeed some sort of sign from your late husband, perhaps his blessing.
