I've been doing keto and intermittent fasting on top of a new workout plan (M/W/F HIIT training, Tu cardio, Th light exercise like yoga or walking). I've thus far lost about 23lbs of the 50lbs of depression weight I've put on in the past couple of years. As long as I'm staying active I can maintain my weight, so once I've lost what I "need" to I'll drop the keto and intermittent fasting but keep up the workouts.

If motivation is hard, which is something I struggle with quite a bit, doing something like a DietBet can be super helpful. You basically bet on yourself to lose a certain percentage of your weight in a certain amount of time with actual money. At the end of that time the winners split the pot. As long as you achieve your goal you'll get back what you paid in plus a little more. It's usually not much more, but every little bit is nice.

Oh, keto! You've got to find something that works for you and definitely make sure you're getting enough electrolytes at the beginning so you don't get the keto flu. I typically drink a bottle of Powerade Zero every day for that. If you're feeling snacky, cheese or low-carb veggies in ranch are good. Eggs are basically your best friend. Scrambled eggs with cheese is a go-to for me. Fatty meats and fish are also super good. Salmon with spinach sauteed in butter and maybe something a little extra is always a nice dinner. I personally really dislike cooking, so Keto Chow has been my savior. It's keto meal replacement shakes that are actually pretty dang good. I have a 21-meal bag of the chocolate peanut butter flavor and zero regrets.

On occasion I'll have something not super keto-friendly, like a chocolate covered strawberry. That's fine. Don't deprive yourself of things and torture yourself for keto. Find what works for you. If you have a few extra grams of carbs in a day go for a quick bike ride or get some more squats in. It can also help to ease into it instead of just jumping right in. Go from regular meals to paleo/low carb to keto. That'll also help your body adjust.

I can’t believe how much weight I’ve lost just by not eating lunch out! It was a regular thing when I went to the office every day. A few months ago I realized my clothes were loose, and when I finally got to a scale I had lost 25lbs! FH said “oh I wondered why you were wearing such loose jeans” but they were just my “normal” jeans.
So I just need to keep that up. However, I’m 51 and in menopause so don’t expect to be super trim LOL

I used to compete in bodybuilding (until some medical stuff derailed me) but I learned that consistency and accountability are key. If you can afford it during these times I would suggest hiring a coach/health wellness coach for accountability but it's not necessary if you know someone who you feel would be a great accountability partner to help you along your journey. Also staying consistent on your diet and tracking your numbers helped me.

I spin Monday-Thursday and lift 4 days a week and so far I have lost 14 pounds since the beginning of January 2021. I still have a ways to go but I feel good with this approach.

Intuitive eating with some calorie counting and 100 minute of exercise per week (50 weight training, 50 cardio) not including warm up and cool down times. I mostly do HIIT workouts and I’ve lost about 15 pounds since December (not exactly healthy, but I vomit a lot when I’m excited, so I’ve been trying to ensure everything I do eat stays down).

That’s what I did. A workout and diet I can do no matter where I am physically or in life.
