Weekend long wedding venues

Mary, on October 21, 2019 at 5:41 PM Posted in Planning 1 5
I am recently engaged and searching for the right venue. We've been to a lot of wedding that lasted all weekend starting with welcome drinks Friday, ceremony/reception Saturday, and brunch sunday. I really enjoy this but would like to find a venue to host all of this in one spot as well as accommodations for our guest list so everyone can really enjoy themselves/ spend time together. We live in southern CT and find most places like Newport, cape cod are too expensive. Willing to travel and have been playing with the idea of places even in Maryland. Any suggestions of venues or good resources

I would suggest something like a dude ranch, bed & breakfast, or small hotel you can rent out for an entire weekend. We had our rehearsal dinner across the street from our blocked hotel, drinks in the bar in our hotel & breakfast the next day in our hotel. So everything was very close together but not in the same venue.

I got married at Battlefield B&B in Gettysburg, Pa which is about 10 minutes over the border from MD. Ours was a DW for everyone except us since we moved to the area from NY and there’s a decent amount of on site accommodations so it was nice that we were able to host our friends and family from Friday-Sunday without any restrictions and full run of the property.

Agree with above.. we did a summer camp, but if that's not your thing, look for a nice bed and breakfast or lodge somewhere.

I believe Blue Moon Rising in Deep Creek, Maryland lets you have the venue for the whole weekend. You can even stay in cabins on the property as well.
