Weekday Wedding before Labor Day

I fell in love with a venue that is asking for a minimum of 185 people for a Saturday evening. I was very set on having a smaller wedding and it be in September. There are a lot of kids in my family and if I choose to do a Thursday evening, it may be hard for most parents with their kids just starting up school again. I am getting married in 2019 and Labor days falls on September 2nd which is so early! If I did Thursday, August 29th, the Thursday before Labor Day weekend, who would find this to be an inconvenience? Would you attend a wedding on this date?

Forgot to mention... Thursday is a 100 minimum so that's why I would be having a week day wedding.

I would if I wasn't busy with other holiday related plans. A lot of people go to lake houses or have set plans on those weekends already that include going out of town. For the majority though, I think it would be okay.

It depends when the school year starts. Are your guests local or will travel be involved? Are you inviting kids?
Too many variables.
Personally, it would depend on my work schedule because I could probably swing a long weekend before Labor Day, but it really depends.
It's not clear why you're committed to September.
If you want a more intimate wedding, fall out of love with this one and find one with a lower minimum.

I wouldn't go. I typically go away for labor day and memorial day.

Thursday weddings are really tough. Some companies black out the couple days before or after a holiday weekend so people don't end up taking a week off over the holiday. If your guests are flying in from somewhere, they'll need to take nearly a week off work. Wedding party/family will need to get there on Tuesday night or Wednesday morning so they're on time for the rehearsal. Then take off on Friday. That's a request 4 for days off work.

Venues are a dime a dozen, look around for something with a smaller minimum so you can have the wedding on Friday or Saturday.
