Week of wedding

Lw, on November 7, 2020 at 6:36 PM Posted in Planning 0 7
Does anyone have a week of wedding timeline/checklist? I’m hearing about how busy people are the week of and I’m not sure what there would be left to do. We’re planning time for last minutes things but not sure about the rest of the time.

I have a tentative timeline. We live 2.5 hours away so I’m taking a charter flight down the Monday before (after I get my hair done). Tuesday-my bachelorette/lingerie party
    Wednesday-last minute errands
Thursday- rehearsal & rehearsal dinner Friday- nails & pedi. Drop off my rental car & spend the night at my parents house. Saturday- GET MARRIED!

There's an excellent timeline/checklist here on WW, under "Planning Tools", and also on the Knot.
I used both, as they have different things and can be edited differently.

You'll have a better idea of what you need to do that week when it gets closer, depending on how things shake out. Some people have a pretty chill wedding week, others have a frantic one.

For us, the week of we had to pick up speaker equipment, signs, greenery, my dress, my husband's tux, robes from the dry cleaners, and so forth. We also had to drop off decorations, check into the hotel, and I got my nails done. Most payments had been finalized 1-2 weeks out, so we were also preparing tip envelopes and that sort of thing.

I also put together an emergency day-of bag (medicine, scissors, etc.), and a bag of important items -- our marriage license, the invitation suite for the photographer, the rings, etc.

Most things will be done by that point, it's just all the final touches!

I think it depends what kind of event you're having. The week before our wedding:

    Sat/Sun: Pack for wedding/honeymoon

    Mon: Pick up dress

Tues: Fly down to wedding location

Wed: Bride to bachelorette party; Groom met with venue event coordinator for about 15 minutes to discuss a few details

    Thurs: Bride at bachelorette party

Fri: Bride spent about 15 minutes confirming final details with vendors; welcome party

    Sat: Wedding day

I didn't feel like I needed a DOC during the week run up. There wasn't anything stressful until the day of, when I regrettably had let myself get talked out of having a DOC and really wished I had one.

As ours is on a Sunday, in my head I'm planning on having a pretty chill week. I hate to be stressed & frantic so I'm trying to finish up as much as possible so I won't forget anything (I do this a lot tbh lol). The goal pretty much would be to have a final head count for the venue, pack up the remainder of my personal things before the big day so it can be easily moved to our new place (I want most of my stuff to be there prior to our wedding day), and finish up the favors since it's candy I can't do it too far ahead of time. Our honeymoon will be a week after our wedding so I'm thankful I won't have to worry about packing that bag before then.

I'm sure I'll have an actual timeline set once we get closer, I plan on having a family day that Saturday before.

I also keep reading about how busy you are during that week and for me, I want to just finish up little things and not be running around stressed all week. FH and I both hate to be last minute so we want at least 90% of things done ahead of time, I want to enjoy that last week before at least that weekend.
