Except for Covid times, I fi d it far easier to take off 1-2 weekdays than to not work 1 or part of both weeke d days, like most in medical fields. And hubby works 4 days a week but supervises a 7 day a week operation, so he finds an extra weekday off more easily shifts to weekend time he barely gets enough of at work. And school and activities have the kids enough, my parents or various relatives will deal easily from 3 til bedtimes. 10 to 15 hours on a weekend mostly is $20 an hour babysitting for 5. So many people work at least part of the weekend, or book hard to get out of kids activities on the weekend. Talk to individual people and see.

Due to cost, I was also willing to have a weekday/lunch wedding (Monday) instead of weekend. Most of our family would have come from out of town and overseas. since weddings celebrations could take a couple of days in our cultures, we would have started the traditional celebrations on Saturday and Sunday and have a pastor bless the union on a Monday. Long story short, Covid happened; very few people were able to travel, all traditional festivities were canceled so we had a small outdoor DIY wedding on a Saturday (for half the original budget). I think you have to gauge what makes the most sense for your guests and how inconvenient it would be for those who work or have children in school (if kids are allowed at the wedding)

We're getting married on a Tuesday - it was more for the date than the price, though it has been very easy to confirm vendors and whatnot for our date. My thought was we would have a full weekend plus Monday to get prepared for the wedding and out of work mode and then we are taking a mini-moon through the following weekend (Monday after is a holiday).

Its just us and my mom, who's retired) so there were no opinions from guests, which also made it easier to choose whatever day we wanted.
