I wish I would have eloped. I didn't realize a ceremony with a reception was sooooo much work. I hate planning and everything is sooooo expensive.

I get it. It's stressful. Luckily you have plenty of time to take things slow. Try to enjoy it. Or if it's that awful can you cancel your plans and elope?

Whoa now, some people may have missed my sarcasm. Take a breather, ladies. Reply with some sympathy for once

But, yes @Sharon, it's just stressful. Can't please everyone, ya know?

@tattooedbride, YES. YES YES. I've even told my fiance, if it weren't for our families, I'd rather elope. Just not an option for us though.

Why do you need sympathy? You gave us zero reason to sympathize with you... If you wanna have a big wedding, have one. If you wanna elope, do that. Your choice...

Because people want to have a special day with their FS, friends, and family? If people want to have a big party then let them. Wedding planning is stressful for some people but for others it is really not at all.

That was fucking hilarious. Lol I thought it was funny. I agree! Why do we have these obnoxious parties to celebrate a wonderful life milestone ?

Very stressful. Next weekend will be here before you know it; however, seeing my sexy FH under the oak tree makes up for it all.

Sympathy for what? You said nothing to trigger sympathy.

Why do you need sympathy for choosing to throw an optional party?

You want sympathy because you chose to throw an unnecessary party?

DITTO. Would prefer elopement. But. Family would not accept that. And especially from a religious aspect, not being in church. I’d like to just go to the woods with an officiant. Bam. Not ever happening. I often ask myself what is the point? To freak out and stress to plan for months? Seems like a one size fits all expectation when everyone’s different.

    hat was your outcome?

Tradition is hard to break especially, if an entire industry is built around it.

I've wanted to cancel legitimately twice. Once for money and the second time for logistics. My fiance wants a big wedding. I do and don't. But it's important to him. If not I would have just eloped at this point. If you asked me today, I'm over the planning.
