Weddings in 5 days and now I’m coughing and my ring is loose

Sarah, on January 2, 2018 at 1:09 AM Posted in Planning 0 14
So. My wedding is in 5 days, we leave tomorrow for Hawaii. Today I developed a frickin cough out of nowhere, and now the center stone in my engagement ring is loose so I can’t wear it. Hoping there’s a jeweler who can fix the loose prong in Kauai, hoping this cough doesn’t get any worse, hoping I’m not sick during my wedding or honeymoons 😩 vent over. Prayers please.

For the cough, zinc tablets have always worked wonders for me. For the ring, could you possibly look into purchasing a similar but “mock” ring for the trip? At least then you wouldn’t have possible anxiety over losing the stone, finding a jeweler? I know quite a few brides who have backup ring sets they wear when traveling.

Good luck and and have a wonderful time in HI! Can’t wait to see your BAM

Take emergen-c everyday leading to your wedding! It’s gross (at least to me) but it really does help I got sick recently before my vacation and took those everyday even while I was on the vacation and by the time I went to Disney I had only a small cough. It might not completely get rid of the symptoms but it will help relieve them tremendously and make it much more bearable!

Go get the Emergen-C from the store. its packets of Vitamin C and you add them to a cup of water. Its GREAT at clearing up a cough like that. They work fast was well and natural compared to antibiotics. I would say this is your BEST bet at ensure that disappears.

I’ve had luck with elderberry syrup and apple cider vinegar concoctions for colds/coughs. Usually I make tea with ACV, honey, and lemon... sometimes a splash of whiskey or rum. I’ll take a teaspoon or two of elderberry syrup once or twice a day. Works well and is completely natural!

Honestly what works like a charm for me is some tea, a spoonful of honey and a shot of whiskey or tequila (your preference). When I feel like I’m coming down with a cold I drink this and I swear it’s like magic. Good luck!

So last month I was in Kauai there were TONS of jewlers there. Atleast 5 per shopping center. Finding a jeweler to fix the ring shouldn't be an issue.

Doctor here- zinc does help cough/colds, emergen C does not, nor do cough syrup. Rest, fluids, ibuprofen, honey. It will all be ok!
