Weddings Gone Wrong

Elizabeth, on May 2, 2016 at 1:25 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 8

I would like to start a discussion about the worst of the worst wedding gone wrong. As a planning bride to be I am prepared with plan a b c, but I am still paranoid of something that will go wrong that I'll miss no matter how many back up plans I have! Somehow these stories make me feel more prepared in some way, so lets hear it! What is your wedding gone wrong story?

Well, it poured rain on my baby brother outdoor wedding with a 1/4 hike (seriously, through the woods, over creeks-- no joke) to the reception. Luckily it was relatively casual and everyone was laid back, so no one freaked, and I'm sure it's their favorite story from their wedding day. I know it's mine!

I attended a wedding were the venue (a hotel) provided a shuttle to and from the church for the ceremony. Only one of the shuttle vehicles broke down, so some guests actually missed the ceremony because they were stuck at the hotel with no transportation.

I posted about this yesterday but the brides mom made photocopies of her invites and handed them out to people or invited them by word of mouth (which is not strange in my community). Well they had almost twice the amount of guests they were expecting. It was open seating so many of the officially uninvited guests were seated. Bride had to pay for an adjacent hall for overflow and also had to send some people home. The manager was going to shut them down. Reception started 3 hours late. Oh yea and the bride was in tears.

This wasn't really a wedding gone wrong but a wedding gone dry for an hour and a half, haha. The groom forgot their liquor license at home (an hour and a half away), so a groomsman had to rush to his place to get it. In the end they started serving alcohol before the poor GM was back, but if someone had showed up to check the liquor license, they would have been in trouble. Also, this delayed the BP's grand entrance and dinner for almost 1 hour.

@ololufe I would have been fighting. There would have been an announcement for all who didn't receive an invite with my address on it to leave. There would have been a screaming match in front of everyone. But my parents aren't like that so I won't have to worry. It just makes my blood boil thinking about it though...

Not my wedding but my MoHs. The day of was predicted to be really nice...well welcome to August in the Rockies Lol. It poured freezing rain and hail for a good hour (all guests were in summer attire), her minister forgot their "i-dos" and his wife (their photog ) got zero pictures of the day. Shortly after the ceremony, both scuttled off without so much as a goodbye. She's still sore about it.

Went to a wedding where a stampede of cows ran through the ceremony area while they were setting up. No one was hurt, it was just funny. Another wedding, the photographer had the BP jump for the pictures. The rings were in the pocket of the best man and managed to fall out in the jumping. BP were on their hands and knees in the grass searching for them.
