Weddings Despite Covid-19

Hello all! I’m a 10/10/20 bride with no desire to postpone but I am getting EXTREMELY anxious about our Plan B wedding plan crumbling. Arizona isn’t looking too great Covid-wise so to say I’m getting uneasy is an understatement. I know so many of you have still gotten married over the last couple months, I could definitely use a pick-me-up to know how you enjoyed your special day even if it wasn’t what you originally planned. I’d love to hear your stories! 👰🏻

To be honest there will always be something that does not go as planned or is unexpected or goes wrong at weddings. it's moreso about remembering that this day is about joining together as one and even if there are slight details that go awry, the overall day is still happy because you get to marry your best friend

I had already planned to elope this month prior to COVID. But my perspective is that I just want it to be done and say we did it instead of delaying it.

I initially did mourn the changes we made, but now I think of the circumstances as they relate to my relationship and upcoming vows...we love each other through the ups AND the downs, and together we're rolling with the punches and will overcome it. All of the COVID brides will be starting off strong with this challenge we're all dealing with. Smiley heart

We originally had a 92 person wedding planned for May 9th at our local venue. Instead we got married with 7 guests on May 16th and at this outdoor gardens for a $250 elopement fee. We had a mini reception at our apartment with a cake from shoprite, food from a soul food restaurant, and liquor. It was fun and intimate. Maybe not exactly how we planned but we had a great time and there are no regrets. We have no plans for a later date vow renewal either. Despite COVID19 we got married with close friends and my parents there.

Our wedding was supposed to be a microwedding (10 people) in France for September. We, sadly, had to postpone due to passport issues with guests, as the US Travel Office closed due to COVID. They are just starting to open up now, but our guests were told they may have to wait up to 6 months to receive it. Since it's easier to cancel flights now, we postponed two weeks ago.

We live in Colorado, and my fiance and I are renting a cabin in the mountains on our original date. I am getting a photographer, and we are going to say our vows and get married with just us. In Colorado, you can self-solemnize your vows without witnesses. We are going to have a mini-honeymoon exploring the mountains together and drink wine. This is what I wanted to do originally, but we changed our plans because of pressure from family.

We postponed our France wedding to our aniversary date for Sept 2021. Our France wedding will now be a combined vow newal/wedding aniversary party. I am looking this on the postive side: we get two celebrations. I get to wear my dress twice, and I get to have the wedding I wanted since the beginning!

Exactly! We are all stronger together! In the midst of sadness, a postive is that we all understand each other! What year of brides were as close to one another? Smiley heart

Very true! Have you picked a photographer yet? We originally were gonna fly one out from Colorado to Oregon. I highly recommend Sean, he does BEAUTIFUL outdoor wedding photos:
