Wedding

Since my wedding has been postponed until next year, I have been getting things for my wedding. So far I have my cake cutting set, wedding goblets, wedding book, flower basket and aisle runner. I’m just getting the little stuff out of the way so that I don’t have to worry about it later. I still have some major stuff to do but I’m pleased to what I have done so far.

That sounds good! Did you get that stuff during special holiday sales and stuff too?

I did not do holiday sales but I checked around for good prices. I think my wedding goblins/flutes were around $25 and I had them scripted. I will admit that some of things that I have my aunt bought them for me (I paid her back) for a bargain/sales.

I think it’s good to spread out spending so that it doesn’t hit the wallet all at one time! My biggest struggle is remembering to put into the budget spreadsheet right away so that I’m not backtracking later to have an accurate balance. I always remember to write it down in my phone, though, so I don’t end up buying stuff twice so I guess that’s something lol

That is awesome! I got most of the simple items/decor first and one thing at a time. That was easy to knock off the list. FH & I have also set aside savings for the larger expenses, which we pretty much have underway. Now we are postponing and having an elopement so it will cost us a little more in the long run but we will also have some more time to save.

That is a good idea to do a spreadsheet for budget and purchases. I just never thought about it. It is something to consider. Thanks.

We set aside money as well for the larger expenses. We have a few large expenses left. Hopefully we will have those items covered. Good luck to you and your fh.

Yes, we have a large part of our budget saved! We are hoping to pay for everything with cash rather than accusing any more debt. The best part of the pandemic is by postponing it is giving us more time to save and plan. Good luck to you as well Alisha! Smiley heart

That is true about the pandemic giving us more time to save money. We have a large portion of our budget too and we are trying to pay cash as well. The last thing that we want is to be in debt. I think we will be ok by the time the wedding comes around next year.
