Wedding Weekend in Las Vegas...How long would you stay?

Aderine85, on December 19, 2016 at 9:04 AM Posted in Planning 0 10

Hi guys! So we're starting to narrow down a few hotels/chapels for our Vegas wedding but I wanted to get some feedback on how long people would be willing to hang out as a guest/member of the bridal party. Right now we're thinking we'd head out on Thursday to get the marriage license out of the way and get settled, have the bridal party come out on Friday for bonding and shenanigans and then Guests come on Saturday (maybe do a welcome dinner or host a small gathering in a cabana) wedding on Sunday and then everyone leaves on Monday. Does that seem reasonable? Should we move the wedding to maybe later in the day on Saturday night? So many things to consider!

@alyssachu good point! I wouldn't ask the BP to come in before Friday though--that would just be me and FH to have some alone time before the craziness. We were just thinking we could squeeze in Bachelor/bachelorette stuff since it's Vegas and wanted to give people some time to recover Smiley smile

@alyssachu The Cosmopolitan is my absolute favorite when I'm there to party and Vdara when I'm doing more of a chill weekend. For the wedding we're thinking about the Paris Hotel or the Linq's Sky chapel.

I stayed at the Cosmo on my last trip and it was AMAZING...

Anyways, just to echo Alyssa's comment about running it past your group, I would definitely do that! My wedding is on a Sunday and even though most of our guests don't really have to travel much, I know some people are already a little worried about the next day.

I love the idea of a Vegas wedding! Happy planning!

I would prefer the wedding to be on Saturday so I could leave Sunday (even if it's later on Sunday) and be back for work Monday but other than that this sounds great & super fun!

Thanks everyone! The latest most strip chapels let you have a ceremony is 4pm but definitely considering Saturday now!

My wedding is on a Saturday. We are staying at the Vdara but the wedding is off strip at Victoria's Family Weddings. We are planning to get there the Wednesday before the wedding. My family is planning to be there the Wednesday also. Going to make it into a family reunion. FH family will be there the Thursday before. Most guests are planning to arrive on Friday and leave Sunday-Monday.

If it were me, I wouldn't make your bridal party take Friday off. I think the majority would knowing that you're having a dress rehearsal etc but I wouldn't require it

My friends got married there a couple years ago. They arrived on either Wednesday or Thursday, got married Saturday afternoon, and stayed until the following Wednesday (they just stayed for their HM at the Grand Canyon as well).

Their friends and family arrived either on Thursday or Friday. My FH arrived on Friday and left Sunday, this way we only had to take one day off.

If they had gotten married on Sunday I wouldn't have flown in until Saturday.

FH has a friend getting married in Vegas on April 8th. My birthday is April 6, so we plan to go out maybe the 5th and come home on the 9th. If it weren't my birthday, we would be flying into Vegas on Friday morning and leaving later on Sunday afternoon.

Our wedding is on a Saturday later in the evening. Our guests will be present from Thursday until Sunday and we will be there until Tuesday. Our honeymoon will be from Sunday until Tuesday.
