Wedding Websites & RSVPs

Laura, on February 23, 2017 at 12:40 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 12

I read somewhere about a wedding website that has RSVPs that limit the number of people a respondent is bringing. For example, you invite Mr & Mrs Smith only (no kids or guests) and when they find their name on the RSVP site, there's a drop down option for 1 or 2 people attending - no more. Three, four, etc is not an option because only two people were invited. Does anyone know the sites that have this feature? For the life of me I can't remember the name! Thanks y'all! Smiley smile

Right here on WeddingWire! To RSVP guests have to search for their name, if they are on your WW guest list, then they can RSVP to the wedding. For plus ones you would enter the guests as "John Doe" and "Doe Guest" so they can RSVP for their guest. There is no option to pick the number of guests attending, all guests have to individually RSVP by name.

You can start building your free WW wedding website on a desktop computer - just select Wedding Website from the drop-down menu under Planning Tools!

I just used Wedding Wire Canada. Guests must type in their full names and only those can RSVP. So if their kids' names are not on there, then they are not invited (I did not do this).

I wanted to use this feature. I just found it to be a pain in the ass to put my guest list into WW

I created a website here in Wedding Wire and used the RSVP feature in that manner with no issues.

Wedding wire. I love the option and loved having my guest list all typed out on here. I can easily export my guest list and addresses to create labels. So easy!

I am using Minted and they have the drop down to select the number in each party. Smiley smile

Also, RSVPIFY allows you to limit the guest list in the same way.

The WW RSVP system is honestly best for this because not only are you limited to the number of guests invited, it actually prompts you to say which of the invited guests are coming. (So instead of getting a reply that indicates "2 attending out of 3," you get "x and y attending, z not attending.")

Am I allowed to weigh in on discussions with questions about my own similar issues? If so, then continue reading. If not, I apologize. I was trying to avoid over done posts, but also don't want to take away from OP finding solution to her problem. Mine's a little more complicated, and if you're not super tech savvy or know someone who is, I might get little result anyways.

I'm having the same problem, and mine may or may not be able to have a solution so I may need to eliminate the online RSVP system all together unless my FH can figure out how to fix it.

My FH works for an IT company, and they promoted him recently giving him all responsibility to web hosting and site building on top of his other IT work. They told him to build a test Word Press site, and it could be whatever he wanted(meaning it could be a real blog or he could use it as our wedding site, and get paid to do it!) So that's what he's done. It's great! Super cute! We're still working on a couple key details, and a wedding date. But as of right now our RSVP portion just allows them to type in whatever number they want. I would hope that none of my guests would abuse this option, but you just never know. My FH and I both are concerned, and he's trying to find something different that will allow us to put a limit.. Does anyone have experience with this in Word Press? I'm not savvy in that portion of the tech world AT ALL. I was totally fine with not doing virtual RSVPs in the first place since we will be sending reply cards regardless. Any advice or knowledge?
