Wedding website

Hello! We have started our wedding website and I have so many questions. On our save the dates we have our website stated. Not much on there right now! We have decided that with the invitations we will have a secondary small card with a QR code for the website ( I think it’s easier than typing it). We want to have a tan for online RSVPing and also a tan for transportation ( getting a deal with lyft for codes). How does everyone feel about this? Have you done it? Can I see what this looks like? Also- what information was super helpful for the website, or maybe info you wish you’d put? We have also decided on no children at the wedding- so, gotta figure out how and where to put that on there. Thank you so much!

    Hey here are some ideas/thoughts:
    1) in addition to the QR code you probably should also type the web address on the insert. Almost all of the wedding websites allow you to customize a shorter URL - for example, WeddingWire.com/JanJonWedding. Older & less tech savvy people may struggle with QR codes & you want to make sure everyone can access the info.

    2) I’m not sure what a “tan” is for an invitation. You could say it on the insert with QR code/website- “please RSVP on our wedding website” and that should do it.
    3) We looked at the Lyft/Uber discount code thing. I think Uber required a deposit that they held in an account to be drawn down, and Lyft was a little more flexible like they only charged your card if people used the discount code. There are WW forum posts on this topic if you search. It may be more cost effective to rent some sprinter vans or charter a bus depending on number of guests whose transportation needs you’re considering.
    4) we used WithJoy for our website & it’s extremely user friendly, free, and has suggested Frequently Asked Questions & templates for pages that have info guests want to know… things I wouldn’t have thought of like Parking questions, Travel recommendations, local activities and restaurants, etc.
    5) You can say specifically on the website that kids aren’t allowed… I’m a google nerd, so anything where I needed “polite” language for the wedding, I googled “what’s a polite way to say XYZ” and there are so many blog posts on all of these things. You could list it on the invitation also… “You are cordially invited to Jan&Jon’s wedding on date. This wedding celebration is for adults only.”

I think it's helpful to have a schedule page (listing the relevant times/ addresses and any other related info), an accommodations page (listing any hotel blocks, transportation info, etc.), an RSVP page, a registry page (if you're doing a registry), and a Q&A/ FAQ page. Additional pages people put on their websites are things like "Our Story" (listing how they met, some info on their relationship, how they got engaged, etc.), a page with the bridal party listed, a page listing things for guests to do in the area, and a page for pictures of the couple.

The Q&A page would be the place to list that your wedding is adults-only. There's a ton of suggestions on here and all over the internet on how to word that. You can also look up other things to list on the Q&A page as well.
