Wedding Website?

Isabelle, on October 16, 2019 at 11:39 PM Posted in Planning 1 11

Hi Everyone!

I just got engaged this summer and have just started planning! I have noticed a lot of my family members have created wedding websites to help guests find the venue, see the online registry, and ect. What is the best website to use to make my wedding website?

Congratulations! I'm using Joy. It's a fairly new app/site compared to the others, but wow do I love it already.

    My pros
    - lots of back end customization for the bride/planner of the wedding to make organizing your people a cinch

    - can add +1 with no names if you want to just secure those spaces for now to get a headcount if you're not sure about names for maybe some family or friends +1s

    - customizable electronic rsvps (we're not using paper ones so this is great)

    - reminder feature to send guests if they have a to do item for you (i.e. meal choice, rsvp, etc)

    - can invite certain guests to certain events without having to create a separate invite or site. All the info can still be in 1 spot from your persoective.

    My Cons

    - because they're still new, they're a bit more limited on themes than other companies but I was still able to find one that worked

    - you have to do most of the designing and heavy lifting from a computer vs a phone (that may change on the future)

    Happy planning and designing!

I used The Knot. I liked it because it was free and very simple to use.

Wedding Wire has been the most wonderful app!!! I love it and I tell all of my fellow brides to use it! It makes planning so easy and virtually stress-free! I’d be lost without it! Not only has it been amazing for the planning using the checklist & budget, interactive forum with fellow brides, but also for creating your personal wedding website. You can easily customize what information to put on your wedding website by adding or removing pages, you can also create your own domain name & add your wedding registry link(s) to one or multiple retail registry links. I’m sure other wedding planning apps/wedding websites are great too, but I am loyal to wedding wire. (I cross reference guidelines/timelines on Pinterest from time to time to make sure I’m not skipping any important steps along the way, but WW pretty much has everything covered!) I am just so grateful to have such an amazing resource that’s easy and fun to use! What a time to be alive! LOL

I really like Wedding Wire, and Zola. I am actually making/customizing it on both. and will pick one as the winner when I get closer.I like Wedding Wire mostly for the forums, but the website builder is really easy to use. The thing I like about Zola is the registry. It ties all registries into one location, and has a honeymoon fund option.
    Happy Planning Smiley smile

    Congratulations!

I definitely say Zola. My site is on Zola. It's so simple. Themed-templates. RSVP option. Registry option (you don't have to go through their registry and can add links to other registries). Hotel and travel information. Attire and FAQs. Things are also pre-filled so, all you have to do is fill in with your information. You can even talk about your wedding party!

    I hope this helps.

I really like the features that Zola has for the registry and the layout. But Wedding Wire feels a lot more customizable as far as the . Honestly I just made an account on a few different sites and figured out what worked for me. I decided to go with zola because I really liked the FAQ page it had and I liked being able to order a lot of my information, I also liked that I can make some of the bigger gifts on my registry (I've been dying for a KitchenAid Mixer) group gifts so people can contribute towards it. Most of them are really easy to use and it comes down to what specific features you liked.

Congratulations! I'm using WW and the Knot. I originally started on the Knot so a lot of things are already built into it but I'm cross referencing between the 2. I do like that WW has the option to create your seating chart which the Knot doesn't have. As the time grows nearer and I start sending out invites I will decide which one to officially use so that guests can RSVP. Happy Planning!

Congrats on your engagement Isabelle! I'm probably the odd man out (which is nothing new lol) but I'm using Wix for my wedding website. It's free and EXTREMELY customizable!
