Wedding Website

I am usually a lurker so this is my first time positing but boy do I have a lot of questions. Lol. I am getting ready to order and send out my save the dates but I am unsure of a wedding website. Do you guys find them necessary? Did you use wedding wires website option or a different platform? I started making one through this app but not sure I like it.

I wouldn't consider it a necessity, but it's definitely helpful. I've heard a lot of complaints on the wedding wire websites, so I'm using The Knot!

We included the dress code for the wedding, photos of us, an "about us" page, an "FAQ" page (my personal favorite), links to our registry, the RSVP tab, and also links to nearby hotels

I wouldn't really know how to communicate our registry to people if we didn't have a website, aside from telling people when they ask directly (registry on an invitation is a big no-no). The FAQ page was a big reason I opted for a wedding website.

They’re definitely not a necessity, but I think they’re convenient. As a guest, I always check for a website before bothering the couple with questions. The way I see it, even if no one uses it, you’re not losing anything except the hour or two it took to set it up. Our website is through WeddingWire and it’s...fine. Their layouts and themes aren’t the prettiest, but it gets the job done. If you’re doing online RSVPs, I wouldn’t use WeddingWire, I’ve heard that feature is super glitchy.

I haven't even considered The Knot! I will have to check them out. Thank you for the tips! I haven't even considered a FAQ page either.

I’m probably not going to use it. I have the one with WeddingWire but I don’t think I want to use it. So far it’s been tricky to put together.

If you don't want to deal with the hassle of putting a return the card and an extra envelope in your invitation then go the wedding website route. It wasn't hard to create the website content. It probably took us one day to actually sit down and write everything out and then we didn't have to repeat ourselves to hundred people who all have the same questions.

We ended up using Zola because they incorporated a wedding registry and it has been sooo easy. Our guests have RSVPed on the website and it just sends an email to us saying like "Stacey has RSVPed and left you a sweet note." The reason we chose Zola over the Knot and Wedding Wire was because they offered better website templates in my opinion and it was super easy to navigate.

Thanks everyone for commenting! I think I want to do both online and paper RSVPS so for that reason along I guess I should do a website. I will check out Zola too!

I love when people have websites (as a guest) so for us it was 100% necessary. We aren't very good about saving save the dates or invites in safe places, and it's so much easier for me (as a planner) to have a website to turn to with all the wedding information. I used The Knot.

I'm using Zola. They have a ton of designs to choose from and it's very user friendly.

I'm using Zola for my website, RSVP, and registry. I liked that it was all in one place and I'm a big online shopper and was not looking forward to going to stores with the little gun and registering for things. I don't even know if people still do that anymore? haha.

Zola's websites are cute and it was very simple to use.
