Have others experienced having a wedding website but having family members who cannot read or understand English? How did you manage and translate to another language?

Do you speak the language of the other family members? If so, you could make your website in both languages. Otherwise, you can suggest they view your website using Google Chrome. Chrome has an auto translate feature for webpages.
