I know this probably a silly question, but do you write in third person or first while writing out wedding party blurbs and how I met my fh on wedding website?

You can do it either way, it really depends on how you want to tell the story.

DH and I worked out variations for both... IIRC, we ended up doing a 3rd person. But we're actors, and we like to be dramatic.

So long as you tell the story, it's what you feel comfortable with!

Most people are most comfortable telling a story of something that really happened to them, in the first person. And using the 3rd, they mix things up grammatically, switching voices, so it becomes a chore to write, and read. Use what seems most natural to you. There is no right or wrong here. .........With wedding party blurbs, the only rule is to ask people if it is okay to write about them. Many people do not want any personal details online, anywhere, not written by themselves. For them stick to "met bride at school, and get together often " type stuff. I pretty much stopped reading websites and programs when people started writing blurbs on WP. Too often they put in things like favorite memories that were highly embarrassing. There is really no need for other people to know any details about WP, and any etiquette source will point that out. So check before writing about others, is the only rule as far as manners or etiquette. Write a fairy tale about yourselves, any way you want.

Thank you! I actually had the wedding party write their own blurbs of how we met & their fave memory but it couldn’t be embarrassing or appropriate & they all did well lol but writing in 3rd gets confusing so I just wanted to know the correct etiquette

The people in our bridal party are writing their own blurbs. I’ve done that for weddings I’ve been in, so it seemed like a good option. That way, everyone can introduce themselves in a way that’s comfortable for them.
