Wedding website with wedding wire

Katie, on January 16, 2021 at 2:07 PM Posted in Account Support 0 18
Has anyone tried to make a wedding website off wedding wire? I made my wedding website on here and sent it to a bridesmaid. She said it's asking for her to make an account. Is there a way I can get my website out to my guest without them having to make an account on here.

Many people have decided not to because of glitches and only use WW for the forums. Zola.com, Withjoy.com and wix.com are popular instead to share with guests and more user-friendly.

We are using WW for our website. None of our guests have been asked to create an account or had any other issues. Did you maybe send her the link to your “internal” page (i.e. the place where you make your edits) instead of the link to the live guest-facing page?

Ok thank you, I'll definitely try a different website. I definitely want one that is very user friendly. Do I need to pay for any of them?

I probably did send her to the internal. How do you get to the link for the guest?

When you are editing your page, there is a box in the upper right corner that says “View as Guest.” That will take you to your published page and that’s the link you want to share with your guests.

I didn't use WeddingWire for our website. I only used for the forums and to find vendors. I used The Knot to create our wedding website. It was very simple to use and free.

Daughter was super happy with their Knot website. It was easy to set up, add to, and edit. It worked great for the online RSVPs for both the wedding and a large rehearsal/welcome dinner that about half the wedding guests were invited to. It tracked both sets of responses, including menu selections, etc. She didn't have problems with her registries. It's free and very user friendly for both the couple setting it up and the guests accessing it.

Thank you, I think I'm going to look at all the free ones set them up and send them to the bridesmaids and see what one they think is the best and most user-friendly.

I'm using WeddingWire for our website! So far, no one has had to create an account. Did you copy the link that is provided on the website editing page?

Yea that was what I did. I sent the editing page instead. Once I sent the guests link they got to the page easily without having to create an account

Thank you. I'll have to give it a try. I'm not a fan of my guests entering their names and emails to get to the page on ww. I don't think people will use it much. I want one that is very user friendly.

    Hi Katie,

You'll want to make sure you're sharing the 'View As Guest' link to your guest. If you try to send the link in Edit mode, your browser is attempting to log you (or your bridesmaid) in to WeddingWire. Your guests do not need to provide any information in order to access your wedding website.
