Wedding Website - The Knot or Zola?

Hi All:

I need help in figuring out the best wedding website to choose. I'm torn between theknot or Zola. What are the pros / cons of both websites? I need one that's easily customizable for RSVP's and nice templates. I currently have a wedding registry setup with two department stores so I would want to sync my registries with whichever wedding website I choose.

Let me know your thoughts and what worked for you!

TIA,

Jakia

I really love my Zola site. It was so pretty and easy to use. I only used their registry though so idk about how easy it is to link outside registries.

I’m using Zola and I really love it. So easy to use and navigate and has all the necessary components! Ours is a destination wedding so we needed a lot of details and organization with the info and it has worked really great so far ... I looked at the knot but got way too confused, it wasn’t super user friendly (need to think about my older guests) and didn’t like the lay out in my opinion

I really liked Zola also. It was so easy and I loved the layouts they had. I'm not planning on doing a registry so don't know about that part. Zola's guest list was a little tedious only because if using/importing a spreadsheet it had to be in a specific format so I had to redo my spread sheet, but it was no biggie & is way better in that format. I purchased a custom domain name from Zola and that was a breeze!

Hi Izzy, does Zola allow your guests to include the name of their plus ones?

I’m using The Knot and it glitches all the time so if I could redo it I would use Zola!

It’s too early for our RSVPs, so I’m not sure, I don’t think it would though, I’m not giving many people a “plus one”, I pretty much know each guest that is invited

I’m using Zola. I originally had one on the Knot, but liked Zola’s layouts better.

I’m pretty confident if you have them loaded as “Person 1 and guest” that Person 1 can add their guest’s name.

it was also really easy to link outside registries. You just need the website address and can insert it.

We have a Zola site with outside registries. Zola is geared towards their registry, but it’s okay to use with others. They let you link to them, nothing fancy.
We didn’t try anything else for websites and RSVPing, but I find Zola pushes their registry and other “for sale” items way too much for my liking. Guess that’s how they all can offer free websites, though.

I love Zola! i tried to make a website on The Knot in the beginning but it really didn't work out for me, Zola is super easy to use, has beautiful designs, u can questions for your guests for the reception and ceremony and rsvp questions too ( like a song request), i'm not doing a registry so i was able to just not publish it which is super, and u can send the guest the link from zola on fb or anywhere else so they can fill their own contact info also their plus ones!

I used Zola first but wasn't a fan of the layouts or registry. I tried to link an outside registry and it didn't work. Not to mention using their registry everything is insanely overpriced. I'm using the Knot now and it's not perfect, but I like it so much more. Especially with the registry options, they're partnered with a number of major retailers through their "The Knot Gifts Back" program. So basically our registry is through Amazon and for every gift bought of our registry, The Knot donates to the charity of our choice (we chose St. Jude's). This was a MAJOR selling point for me, we could use the registry we wanted with much fairer prices and even give back a little.

Same here--started with the Knot and found that Zola was best. We're having our ceremony and reception in two different towns, and Zola's layout was easier to use for that kind of wedding. I've been really happy with them so far.
