Wedding Website: Pros and Cons? Where to start?

Megan, on April 17, 2018 at 5:25 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 6

I'm considering creating a website but I'm not tech-savvy and I'm not sure where to start... if I start at all. Is one necessary? Advice is appreciated Smiley smile

I believe the main ones are Wedding Wire and The Knot. I'm using The Knot and it's been super easy. Just upload a picture of you guys and put in some information. I like it because I'm referencing it on our invites. So guests are going to RSVP, find our registry, and find hotel/flight information for the event. It's not necessary, I just think it's one option to keep everything in one place! Smiley smile

Wedding websites are not necessary but are highly recommended. This will give your guests information on events, travel, hotel accommodations, as well as your registry.

Personally I am using minted.com and it has been very easy to navigate. Other popular sites are theknot.com, wedding wire's website, and withjoy.com

I'm using weddingwire's web site. I find it too be pretty straightforward and easy.

Wedding websites are not necessary but they are a big help. People will want info and they will lose the invites and everything. Having the website to check for info is much more convenient than bugging the bride and groom for every little detail.

We're using withjoy.com and I LOVE it, super user friendly, AND me friendly. Honestly its not very costomizable, which for me was nice. Very much, pick your colors, upload your photos, and it all fits in to the same format. However I got to pick which pages we use, for example I wasn't planning on using the "transportation" tab, so I removed it, then we ended up getting married in a location that you have to use a Ferry to get to! So I brought it back and it was easy as a button click.

FW isn't as in to it as I am, but she's a programmer, and happily would have built our website from scratch, but I knew I was going to be doing most of the content, and wanted something I could easily use.

I love it. We used minted and it just allows me to put so much information on their. I also have the RSVPs on there which is convenient.
