Wedding Website not searchable on Google

Jim Mallers, on December 5, 2014 at 5:25 PM Posted in Planning 0 7

When we google for our wedding wire website it doesn't show up. We have triad a myriad of search terms including exact phrases and nothing. Can someone help?

I thought you could address that in settings. I recall having the option when I put mine together.

Go to edit your website, select the settings tab. There is an option to make your website searchable.

So, I've been through the settings a few times and where it gives the option to be searchable it only makes the page searchable from weddingwire.com. I'd like my guests to be a leader to find my page through a Google search of mine and my spouses names (which are both featured on the site) Does anyone know how to make this happen? Do I have to purchase a domain?

I'm not using wedding wire for my website I'm making my own so I'm not familiar with how customizable the wedding wire ones are or the options they have but I'm a web designer so I will tell you what I know.

There's really no easy way to get your website found unless you are willing to dive into search engine optimization. This determines how high your website ranks on the results list when a user searches for a term in google. So unless you, your spouse or the website have a really unique name or have the time to fiddle with SEO, it will most likely not be found by a simple google search and your guest will have to know the exact url.

I will be putting my url on my save the dates and invites. Good Luck!

Mine comes up as the 5th Google search result when I search my name.
