Wedding videographer

Tara, on October 21, 2019 at 7:45 PM Posted in Planning 0 10
So we are investing quite a bit in our photographer and I’m torn if we need a videographer. What is everyone else doing? Thoughts? Opinions?

I'm getting a videographer. The only time I ever saw my grandmother cry was when she watched her wedding video from 40+ years ago...she was able to see her husband and family who have passed and it meant so much to her. I want to have the video to appreciate when in older.

We didn’t do a videographer and a year later we have no regrets.

That's a number one regret I keep hearing about. It is really not in the budget for me but I hope I'll be able to make it work. Photos are great but I want to hear toasts and our vows and hearing my parents voices decades from now. If you can do it I say go for it!!!

We are not having a videographer. For the expense, and how often we would actually watch it, we don’t think it’s worth it. My FH says they are very invasive at times too, and doesn’t want to deal with that.

My FH wants to just get a little videocamera and film it ourselves

We did both. We just got married last week and I'm super happy that we decided on both. We obviously have a few weeks until we get the video, but just from what we know they got, I think it's going to be well with it. It'll be a nice thing for us to have.

We got lucky - a coworker of mine is an up and coming filmmaker and offered to do ours for a steal of a price.

She got us a 5 minute highlight video in 5 days, and the raw footage on an external harddrive within 6 weeks.

We're very glad we did, as we can watch our ceremony and our swordfight, and catch friends we barely saw during the party.

We just couldn’t fathom paying the ridiculous expense for a video that would only be 6-8 minutes for the finished product. Then, we would’ve had to feed this vendor as well.

We diy’d this via ordering 📹📹 and asking 2 friends of different heights to record for us.

This way, we have control over the footage too.

    Congratulations and 🍀‼️

I wanted video more but I think as long as you've photo and just a way of capturing the moments it'll be good. You can also make sure all your friends can capture certain moments for you via video clips

Im attaching a small camera ( action pro) to the arbor above us. and then relying on family member to video from behind. so i have both angles and if one is not shot good enough i have a second... of course there is guest phones im sure.... but im hiring a photographer... seems its outdoors i might just hook up the trail cams to nearby trees and catch things from all angles it also has video lmao
