Wedding Video?

Heather, on June 13, 2020 at 9:57 AM Posted in Planning 0 13
I never thought I'd want to do a wedding video because I feel with 2 photographers taking pictures and everyone with a cell phone it captures most things. But recently I've seen people posting their wedding videos and I'm like "that looks so cute!" However is it worth the extra cost?

All depends on your budget. I say go big if you can. I bought a cathedral veil when we're eloping with two friends lol. I would hire a videographer but he does not want to. You only get to go big once Smiley winking.

I think it would have been nice to have if I had extra money but I was already way over budget. I’m really happy with my photos and don’t miss it.

It is totally worth the extra cost! We had 2 photographers & 2 videographers. Our wedding videos are our favorites! Don’t get me wrong, we look at our wedding photos all of the time, as we have them hanging in our home. But being able to relive your day through video is really very special.

I think it’s worth it but if it’s not in your budget then it’s ok to skip

In my opinion, it is totally worth it. I didn't allow guests to take photos during the ceremony because our photographer and officiant recommended not to. I love our wedding video and I'm so glad we spent the extra money to hire our videographer.

We were over budget and couldn’t get one. I was sad for a few moths but then not so much. VERY glad we had two photographers.

I booked our videographer after we postponed, because I had been considering it all along but didn’t have enough time to save for a videographer. I’d already spent so much on the photographer I was tapped. But luckily postponing gave me time to save. I’ve heard so many people say they are glad they got it. I would try to find one if you can, and rewatch it year after year

I think it would totally be worth having a videographer if its budget. If not, don't stretch yourself unless you know that you're ok cutting costs elsewhere.

Personally I think it’s priceless honestly. We were back and forth and didn’t actually hire one until 6 weeks before our wedding when I realized I’d regret not having one. It was worth every penny and I can’t believe I ever considered not getting one! It allows you to relive the day in a way that photos just can’t.

It's a splurge, but it's totally worth it. Your wedding day passes by so fast, and I really want someone to video tape everything that goes on from the ceremony to the speeches. The fact that I get to look back at the ceremony and watch the video, and even watch the speeches will be great.

I think it's worth it to hire a videographer. We hired one for the wedding day and we'll also be doing an engagement video along with our engagement photos. I personally want to have an unplugged ceremony; I want guests to be in the moment with us rather than focusing on capturing the right angle.

    Absolutely worth it.

If budget is a concern, contact your local film school, and see if there are any students interested in filming your wedding. DH and I got lucky - one of my coworkers is an up-and-coming filmmaker, so she offered to be our videographer for a fraction of what it would usually cost. But she wanted the chance to learn a new skill set and possibly a new avenue of business.

I think it’s worth the cost. However you do have to think about and consider how many photographers or camera persons you want to be present. Also having that many people filming and photographing will cause limitations for each photography team, so keep that in mind. You could always start by asking your photographer if there are any cinema/video teams they work well with.
