Wedding video wait time ?

It took us almost a year to get our wedding video. Like your contract, ours different have a specific timeline. We had asked our videographer before signing the contract and he said he unfortunately couldn't give us an exact time frame because it varty per video and how busy he was.

More likely, as a photographer she did numerous small shoots at Christmas time then took some kind of holiday time off herself. And this week or next is school vacation so week. Delays from those, particularly if she has kids, are enough to create an editing backlog. Saying something won't change things, and will irritate her. 🙂 You have our sympathy, it is hard waiting!

Our contract specifically said full video would be delivered within 12 weeks after the event. We ended up getting ours a little earlier (around the 6-7 week mark) since our wedding was a few weeks before all the covid shutdown since our videographers’ upcoming wedding events were canceled which gave them more time to focus on editing during lockdown. However, our photographer took a little longer with our full gallery than expected. He always communicated with us any delays though (his wife was having a tough first trimester so he was left taking care of their other LO on his own). He reached out to use before we even followed up with him.


I think the most important thing is that she’s communicating with you. I would maybe give it another couple of weeks to check back. I think that’s perfectly reasonable to do, especially if you haven’t heard back from her with an update after 6 weeks since the last contact (which was initiated by you).

I had a really long wait time for my video but it was written into the contract! It said they try their best to complete the videos within 6 months of the wedding date, and I received my videos a little after that 6 month mark (3 min highlight video and raw footage of ceremony and reception dances & toasts)!
