Wedding Video Song Licensing

This should be something that is taken care of by your videographer. When you pay them, it should include the licensing for all songs. I would check your contract. I have never heard of having to pay for that yourself, on top of paying your videoprapher. We are not having to pay for both, everything is included.

Our videographer provides a list of songs that are royalty-free or that he's already paid for access to. He won't pay extra so that I can have a specific song that's not on the list of options he provides.

Would it be possible to ask your videographer to inquire how much the licensing would be for this song and then ask him to add this cost to your invoice so that he will not out of pocket?

My videographer invoice is all paid, so I'll be paying for the song either way. He told me he'd look into it, but I figured I'd ask here just in case any one knew. I imagine I won't be hearing back from my videographer about it right away with it being wedding season and my wedding being 2 months away.
