Wedding Venues Open?

Samantha, on May 18, 2020 at 1:36 PM Posted in Planning 1 8
Has anyones venue reopened yet? And what are the guidelines in place? Just curious to know if any brides out there are in the reopening phases and their venues are up and running...what do you have to do differently now?

I think it depends on your state and county. I'm in CA and my venue is still closed. Although, CA is starting to reopen now, so I'm hoping my venue does too in these next few weeks.

My venue is a country club and they have stayed open for curbside pick up. On 5/15 we were open for outside sitting, on 5/21 we will be allowed to sit down inside. Still no word on mass gatherings yet. My wedding is 10/31/20 165 days away so alot can change by then.

I see today my venue posted they are officially working back in the office again. So it looks like they will be having weddings again soon, maybe by June or July, with guidelines and safety measures in place.

My venue is in Wisconsin, which just started opening a few days ago. It sounds like my venue plans to open for smaller weddings in June, so we’re hoping to be able to have at least 50% capacity for our wedding in August. That would be 150 people. Our original list was about 250 but we’re open to trimming it down some if we have to. I still feel like we’re playing the waiting game. I need to order invitations and finalize a bunch of other details, and I think at this point I’m afraid to proceed because there’s just so much I don’t know yet.

My venue is also in Wisconsin. They are a hotel and have been opened the entire time for their hotel operations. My wedding coordinator was laid off for a bit; according to the sales manager that was handling her end of things while she was off she should be back in the beginning of June. They are still determining the capacity limits. I am lucky though, because the max capacity for the ballroom is 600 we have 148 invited; so even if they only allow 25% of their max capacity we will be fine since that would 150 people. So all in all I'm not worried.

Yeah Im in NY and only some regions are opening. Downstate is still on pause. Prating that we can open by June and hopefully be in phase 3 or 4 for our venue to open up...and at 50% capacity I would be happy. Fingers crossed. Not knowing is killing me!

Yes, my ceremony venue was shut down but they just got the green light to go ahead and start a slow re-opening, which should be perfect since our wedding is in August. We only have to follow the state/city guidelines, which will most likely change by then and may include face masks and/or sanitizing stations.
