Wedding Venue

I don't see how it would be a problem if you love it. Lots of couples marry in the same location and it isn't weird at all.

I think it’s a great idea! I would reach out to your cousin first to get her opinion on it. Not like her permission to use it or anything lol, but just her opinion on whether they’d be good to work with or not.



Me personally, we had a gorgeous venue, great food, everyone had a wonderful time. But our venue staff was an absolute nightmare to deal with throughout the planning process and behind the scenes. Luckily the day was wonderful for our guests but they caused me so much grief leading up to the wedding day. So if I found out I had a friend/relative wanting to use them, I would want the opportunity to warn them against it lol.

It’s cool to have an inside scoop on what it’s like to use them, so I’d take advantage and ask your cousin about her experience :?

I don't think it's tacky at all, it's just a venue & you'd obviously have a different theme so nothing would look the same. I'd just talk to her & ask whether they'd be good enough to work with, if they had any complaints or if they had any advice when dealing with them.

I agree with everyone else. Not tacky at all. And such a bonus to have already experienced a wedding there and enjoyed it. I agree you should ask the cousin about their experience with the planning process as well.

I don’t think it’s tacky at all! Where I’m from there’s only a limited amount of venues available anyway so if yours is the same I think it’s fine to use the same venue especially every wedding is different anyway.

It’s definitely not tacky. The venue we chose was actually a venue my FH’s friend used and my FH was in the wedding, so the wedding coordinator actually remembered my FH. You have to pick the place you love and if that’s it, go for it! I’d hope your cousin would be more flattered that you loved her choice so much over upset for copying her.

I don’t think it’s tacky at all. We are actually using the same venue as my fiancée’s brother who had his wedding there last year. I struggled with it at first but it was the only venue that was close by and fit into our budget. I finally got over it when I realized how different the experience would be because it would be for us. My soon to be sister in law was also super supportive and excited to offer her experience with the venue.

I don’t think so! As long as it doesn’t feel like you’re “copying” their day and making it your own , who cares! Half the venues I’ve looked at, my fiancé has a cousin that’s been married there already. Can’t help what you like!
