Wedding tradition do or ditching ?

Peyton, on January 16, 2021 at 12:31 PM Posted in Planning 0 13
I will be getting married in April 2021. And was thinking bout garter toss.
Thinking of ditching bc idk if fiancé would be able to get under dress (fitted dress)

What’s thought on if I ditch garter toss but kept flower toss ?

Many people skip both and no one misses them. Do what works for you.

I honestly haven't seen a garter toss in years, and only ever at 1 wedding. I've still seen some bouquet tosses, but even those have become less common. We skipped both and did an anniversary dance instead. It's totally up to you what you want. We also didn't have many single people in attendance, and thought it would be awkward to have like 3 people for a bouquet toss. The garter toss is just cringy to me personally.

Most weddings I have been to don't have either one. Honestly I think it is rather outdated. We skipped both.

Oh my gosh, I don’t think I have seen a garter toss in at least five years, if not longer! And I would say only about half the weddings I’ve been to have done a bouquet toss. It’s perfectly fine to skip them. No one will miss them

I’ve seen that a lot ! My BFF did that. Some people aren’t comfortable with the garter toss

I've seen plenty of couples keep the bouquet toss and eliminate the garter toss. Out of the 50 or so weddings I've been to in total, I've only seen one garter toss, and it was the cringiest + most uncomfortable thing to look at. We eliminated both the bouquet toss and garter toss (no bouquet toss because we didn't have many single friends in attendance, no garter toss because it's outdated, cringy, and rooted in sexist principles).

You can definitely do one without the other, or neither, totally up to you! We skipped both.

My husband and I didn't do that for our minimony and we don't plan on doing it for our big wedding either.

Garter toss makes me very uncomfortable and honestly the LAST thing I want is my father to watch my husband go under my dress to pull something off me with his mouth 🤮. I can't believe it was ever a thing to begin with.
