Right now I have several timelines that I’m composing individually (photography timeline, bridal party, groom’s party, and the overall timeline of events) and will combine those into a detailed timeline to give to all my vendors and VIPs once I’ve gotten all the important details down. That may be a bit much for some ppl, but doing it that way keeps me from getting overwhelmed by information when I’m planning specific events. The overall timeline for us:

10:00-3: Bridal party arrival & getting ready2:00: groom & groomsmen arrive & get ready3-4:30: photographer arrives; details & individual party photos 4:30-5:15: Wedding party hidden/guests arrival/pre-ceremony cocktails5:15: guests seated/WP begin lining up5:30-6: ceremony6-7: cocktail hr/photos7-8: Dinner8-8:30: Cake cutting, dessert served, toasts, games8:30-9:30: guests mingle (we are not having a dance party but all of our guests know each other so conversation will not be an issue)9:40-9:50: We will have a farewell dance/1st dance as newlyweds and a sparkler exit.

    5:00pm Champagne Welcome
    5:30pm Ceremony
6:00pm - 8:00pm Cocktail / Canapés 8:00pm - 10:00pm Dinner / Speeches etc 10:00pm - 2am Dancing with a late night menu served at 1am Conceivably we could go later as it’s rented out for the weekend but I’d really like for everyone to function at least a little at brunch on Sunday 😂

    7:30pm - 11:30pm dinner reception/eat/drink/dance/drink some more/dance the night away.... Smiley smile

What time do you need to get ready? I was told that bridal party and I will have to start getting ready at 8:30am to get done by 1:30pm so we can do the "reveal", photo shoot done before the ceremony. (3-4 hours before the ceremony) We are getting married at the same venue as the reception.

My fiance insists that the ceremony starts at 4, so we'll have a 4pm- midnight celebration. We haven't decided on a venue yet, but the ones we're looking at give you 10-14 hours... so getting dressed and getting set up will happen noon-4pm or 2pm-4pm.
