Wedding timeline!

Blaine, on April 15, 2020 at 4:23 AM Posted in Planning 0 9
Hi!

I really need help with my wedding timeline. Right now we have a gap from the end of the ceremony to the reception (a gap of an hour) and we are having our reception and ceremony in the same place. Now in that hour gap we were going to go to the nearby beach it take photos because we only have the photographer for 2.5 hrs. However I’m worried guests will get restless and want to leave seeing as the food won’t show up for an hour-an hour half. Alternatively, we can do our beach/first look an hour before the weeding but my mother is convinced I’ll get all messed up if I do those photos first. Please give advice!

Why not do a cocktail hour during the gap? You can do a simple spread of deli meats cheeses fruits and crackers.

I agree with Rebelle. Usually with a small gap having a cocktail hour is ideal. You don't need music. People will snack, mingle and check out your guestbook, decor and hangout.

Typically people serve drinks and appetizers during this hour, it’s called cocktail hour. Keeps your guests occupied while you take photos.

If you do as PPs suggested where you have some snacks and drinks then i think people can wait 1-1.5 hours

Agree with PPs. Have a cocktail hour during this time.

I agree with all of the PPs. If you are going to have the gap, you will need to provide drinks and snacks (cocktail hour). Otherwise, your guests will get restless.

Drinks and snacks/appetizers are a must! Are there any games or activities you can set out for your guests? My fiancé and I are setting out yard games at our reception, but some of those would work inside for entertaining guests depending on your venue. Maybe a slideshow of pictures or sweet words/well wishes from guests projected on a screen that they sent ahead of time?

    Just some ideas!

I would at least serve drinks and maybe cheese, veggie and fruit trays.
