Wedding timeline without a first look

FutureMrsFrench, on August 15, 2016 at 10:33 PM Posted in Planning 0 2

We are not doing a first look and I am having trouble creating a timeline to where we can fit everything in the ceremony is at 3 we are doing a cocktail hour from 430 to 530 with reception to follow that. Also i would like to do a receiving line. Any suggestions are welcomed. Thank you.

Congratulations on your wedding! I personally love weddings without a first look! The groom's face always gets me! As far as suggestions go, I always tell my brides to try to schedule time with the photographer to do your pictures with your family and bridesmaids and your groom's pictures with his family and groomsmen before the ceremony. That way you've gotten most of those out of the way. For the remaining pictures, make sure you have a very specific shot list with your photographer for the after-ceremony pictures. Make sure the family and bridal party that will be in those pictures are given a heads up so that they know how it needs to go, and just make them aware of the time crunch.

A receiving line shouldn't affect your timeline too much, as long as you and your new hubby keep the time crunch in mind, and set a steady but efficient pace going down the line. Hope this helps!

You can do a receiving line outside of the church (just you, DH, and both sets of parents) and send the guests to cocktail hour. Then finish your photos and make your grand entrance into your cocktail hour or dinner! Make sure you get as much as possible done before your ceremony. Like the pictures of you with your BMs, your parents, him with his GM and family, and the bridal parties together. Save the large group shot of you both with your bridal party for after the receiving line and as soon as that's done, send your BP to the reception! Good luck!
