Wedding theme

How many times have you changed your wedding colors/theme? I'm rethinking everything due to location.

For our wedding we knew before we even got engaged we wanted our colors to be red and black. We got engaged two days after my brother-in-law and a few weeks later his now wife told me red was their main color. Our weddings were scheduled five weeks apart so I talked to my now husband we decided to switch to light pink and gray because I didn't want to use red anymore since they were planning to and the weddings were so close together. About two months or so into planning brother-in-law's now wife and I were talking and she mentioned changing their main color to dark green. Since they changed theirs we decided to go back to red and black. If it wasn't for them saying they were going to use red we wouldn't have even considered changing colors. We hadn't purchased anything for the wedding so changing back to red and black wasn't a huge deal. Have you purchased items for the wedding yet? If so then I would probably stick with the theme or color you have selected. Weddings are expensive enough without having to buy new things to replace things you've already purchased. If nothing has been purchased and your fiance is on board with changing themes or colors then go for it. The only exception would be if your girls have already picked out dresses but haven't purchased them yet. It would annoy me if I was a bridesmaid and the bride changed colors after I picked out a dress even if I haven't purchased it yet.

We completely changed our theme after having to postpone because of Covid. I literally had all decor purchased (nearly $2k), had florals all figured out, etc. and scrapped everything and started over. I would suggest getting an idea in your mind of what you would like in terms of decor (maybe start a Pinterest page, if you haven’t already), but wait on purchasing everything until closer to your wedding date. Wasting all that money sucked.

Omg. lol well luckily no nothing has been purchased as of yet thank God! Our colors were the beauty and the beast theme, so the gold, blue, and red but now we may go tropical depending on the venue. The venue we wanted was overly expensive, so we're back venue shopping.

Thank you for the advice! And I didn't think about Pinterest. Good idea. Yes if I can lock down a venue then I can lock down my theme, but I'm going to wait like you said until closer to buy things.

I didn’t pick a color scheme until we chose a venue, as I wanted to make sure the color scheme worked with the venue. We didn’t have any specific theme.

    Heyyyyy

I've changed my date twice and changed the location plenty Smiley xd but I've never changed our colors. I am a strong believer that colors, themes, and even smells SHOULD MATCH depending on seasons and locations. So I say go for it! If you have enough time and money to switch things out you should Smiley love

Got engaged 1/2021, have gone through dozens of color schemes. Decided on my final in october....and last month I decided to switch my bridesmaids colors. 😅

Thankfully I've only purchased paint and swatches that go with the color pallet.

It might be easier to go for a vibe rather than a literal theme. But, you can tie in both Beauty & the Beast colors and tropical decor as there are many different styles of tropical. I would google Tropical + minimalism, glam, classic, beach, island, tiki, colors, etc.

Here are some inspo pics in your colors and mood:

Best wishes finding a venue that reflects you as a couple that's within your budget. But, remember you can do whatever you want design-wise. My husband and I had a black-tie sexy jungle in a NY ballroom w/o windows. My colors were based on the red carpet and chairs. I did not buy any added decor but invested in my florist and rented uplighting.

Thank you! Lucky i haven't spent money on anything yet so we'll see what happens. Lol it will be in the summer and I love the beach so we may go tropical for the theme
