How much do you buy into this wedding superstition ?

This is one of the oldest wedding superstitions that dates back to ancient Greek and Roman traditions. The bride wore a veil to protect herself from evil spirits trying to do her harm! Wearing the veil over the bride's face was a way to "hide" from these evil spirits, who allegedly can't curse the bride if they can't see her! I'm not sure how many people still know of or believe this superstition, but veils still remain popular (if only for the fashion).

Do you believe in this superstition? Are you or your fiancée wearing a veil over your face to ward off evil spirits?

I was going to wear a veil but decided on a hair comb instead.

Won’t be wearing a veil and definitely don’t believe in that superstition.

I hadn't planned on wearing a veil at all. I was going to wear a white flower clip in my hair. But the week before the wedding the flower went missing. I mentioned it to my sister and she offered to let me use her veil. It was an easy solution and it felt special to wear my sister's veil, so I did! I was definitely not concerned with the superstition, and didn't wear the veil over my face.

My veil doesn't cover my face, I just like it because it makes me feel like a bride, and looks fantastic in pictures!

No veil here as of right now, that may change, but I cannot stand anything over my face so it will stay back.

I actually didn't plan on wearing a veil at all until I picked out my dress and the veil just made it look perfect. But the veil will not be covering my face

Honestly didn’t know about this one! I am wearing a veil and it does have a blusher on it. Once I am down the aisle my plan was to have my grandpa flip it back for the rest.

I am wearing a veil because I always imagined I would and it personally makes me feel like the look has gone from "girl in lovely white gown" to BRIDE. Of course they aren't for everyone! I'm only wearing it for pictures and the ceremony. Then I have a glittery hair comb that will stay in for the reception! My veil does not go over my face

No, not buying this superstition. My FS already knows what I look like.
