Wedding Stationary - Program, Menu,

Trinity, on April 2, 2020 at 9:13 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 7

Hello All,

Are you doing Wedding Program or Menu? We are having a non religious, 20 mins ceremony. I feel like the Program is a waste of money.

If I do have the program and menu, I will order half of what's needed so people can share.

What is your opinion?

I agree with you! I think the program and menus are a waste of money. We don’t play on buying any because we’re having a 30 minute ceremony and a buffet style dinner. We’ll have the menu listed by the buffet station but to pay for more paper that people will throw away... No thanks. The invitations and save the dates are enough paper for me.

We didn’t have programs, but we did provide menus. Our dinner was served in stations and we wanted guests to know what options were available without standing in line at each station. Instead of providing enough for half of your guests, it might be more convenient and economical to have one per table if you decide to have menus.

We didn’t do either. Honestly I think it’s a waste and nobody cares about those things. Put that money toward a great DJ or better food which are things people really care about.

We didn't have programs. The only reason we had menues is because the venue printed them for us. We had a plated 3 course meal, and they chose their entree at the table.

My ceremony was 20 minutes but i did them anyway purely because mine was outdoors and so it felt like some kind of program made sense for some shade or to act as a fan. i did menus too but i only printed one per table

We're not doing either. You're right. They'll just be thrown out and our bridal party is featured on our website.

I've always thought wedding programs were a hilarious concept. Like what events are you having that your guests need an itinerary for? Do they seriously not know that the wedding will consist of vows, eating, drinking, and dancing? I mean no offense to anyone who does do programs, I just feel like unless you want to give your guest something to fan themselves with it's totally pointless. A menu on the other hand is a lot more practical, especially with all the various food sensitivities and preferences these days.
