Wedding Splurges

Jazmin, on February 10, 2019 at 2:21 PM Posted in Planning 0 21
Anyone else have any recent wedding splurges that have you excited? Not necessarily something that you needed but something that you wanted, or that will make planning life easier? For me, I recently ordered an Erin Condren wedding planner and I am way to excited to get it in the mail, Tuesday can't come fast enough!

I’m going back and forth about splurging on my first pair of designer shoes like Fendi or Gucci for the wedding....
TBH tho spending $1500 - $2500 on a dress feels like a huge splurge so I doubt I’d spend a grand on shoes IRL tho 😂

For me, ballet slippers with ribbon I'm going to sew on. Also I'm going to splurge to get a circlet made and a Zelda garter too. I'm a total geek

Big cakes seem like they're getting rarer and rarer these days, but they're so pretty and classic! I'm sure it will be so worth the extra money!

Lol I totally feel you! I felt the same way when purchasing my wedding dress! Maybe check out places like poshmark to find those designer shoes for cheaper? It could possibly be a win-win situation

I splurged on a day-of-coordinator in charge of the month leading up to the wedding vendor management and the day of setting everything up and striking it down. We are having a budget destination wedding but I decided it's worth the investment to not have us and our out of town guests also working on the day of the wedding! After enough time searching I found someone that was only $665, half of what many people were quoting me without the setup/breakdown option.

Wow, way to find a deal! Wedding coordinators can help relieve so much stress. This way you and your guests will be able to simply enjoy your wedding day. Definitely a reasonable thing to spend money on Smiley smile

I splurged on getting a DOC. My family refuses to work (as do i) on our wedding day! My parents also told me since they're only paying for one wedding for me that if I want a bigger fancier cake than included in the package...then go for it. They'll pay the difference. But i dont think the one I want will be too crazy.

How kind of your parents! Even if you don't go too crazy, it's nice to know that you can get exactly what you want for your cake. And yes a DOC is a great idea!

    Splurges:
tons of chandelier crystals and bling for decor and favors.
    my $70 converse wedding shoes
pirchased wedding linens including chair covers and sashes (as if our venue isn’t beautiful enough. However the chairs are ugly 😂
    must have:
we decided to take the plunge and pay for DOC. Only $400 and she sets up and takes down decor, makes sure all details are up and in order, does everything with vendors, deals with hiccups, steams dress, makes timelines, and takes down and packs all the decor!
Booking her today. We have folks willing to help it we want hem to enjoy the wedding. They can help her with set up and such a bit so they feel they helped but not bearing the burden (and avoiding any issues if they can’t make it to the wedding!)

I wasn’t going to have a videographer as it wasn’t in the budget. But I just kept thinking about how sad I would be to not have nice videos of the day. So I just splurged on one this weekend. I don’t know where I’ll find the money for this and I’ll probably be paying it off for the rest of the year. But I’m still really glad that I booked him. I now I would regret it later if I didn’t.

We splurged on Salt and Straw ice cream (its a Portland thing - people stand in line for it for hours). For the first year we dated, every Thursday night we went and got ice cream. They bring a cute little branded cart and serve the ice cream to your guests.

I'm about to splurge on my mom's dress. It might be more expensive than my dress haha. Granted, my dress was only $95, but if my mom wants a beautiful gown, she's getting a beautiful gown. And then I might splurge on my dad's suit afterwards too.

This is such a silly splurge but I was so excited to get custom Funko pops of us. It was my one thing that was totally unnecessary but that I had to have!!

We are currently in savings mode so my current wedding splurges involve my bridal party boxes (which I hope to get out in March) and some fun stuff for our cruise in April. I love everyone's splurge ideas of shoes, cakes and dresses. This is a huge day and we all deserve something wonderful!
