Wedding Speeches Versus Toasts?

A speech ends in a toast doesn’t it? Sounds like same thing. No one wants someone to speak for 20 minutes so I’d say it’s a toast. Lol.

Ask people to offer a "toast" -- it helps plant the "keep it SHORT" seed better than asking them to give a speech. A three-minute time limit should be plenty. (I've taught Public Speaking for 25+ years, trust me! )

They're the same thing . Depending on who you talk to, they may call them different things but they're the same.

Yes they are the same, but I highly recommend calling them toast. Toast imply short, sweet and too the point. Speech implies they can ramble on.
