Wedding songs

Let's talk wedding songs.
What are you doing more of slow dances or dancy songs? Are older songs lame for weddings? Like 1980s-2009 a bit of all areas? Are you having just one "husband and wife song" or multiples thru out the reception?

We are doing a lot of 80’s music. We aren’t really a dancing crowd so it will mostly be background music

It depends on your crowd and vibe really. We are doing a lot of old jazz and crooner music, but we are also doing karaoke so our friends can decide the music they want to hear and sing to! We expect a large variety in music as my FH is almost 10 years older than me. Most of his friends like classic rock and 80s music, most of mine like 90s/00s and current music, but the parents at the wedding obviously like the oldies and the jazz. My dad and I are dancing to Walking in a Winter Wonderland.

We have guests of all ages so we're definitely going to try to have a little something for everyone.

We have a little bit of everything. country, rock, pop, oldies, r&b and group dance songs. We have about 10-15 slow songs out of 60 song playlist.

We're not much of a dancing crowd so my friend who is in an acoustic duet with my MOH is going to play some background music during dinner and they will probably do a few together...we are a very laid back group. Our wedding is basically a backyard BBQ/concert with the addition of lawn games that happens to have a wedding ceremony before it starts. lol We will be having at least 3 songs we will dance to. Our music will be from about the 50's on up.

We have two songs for the husband and wife, one for the first dance and one for the last dance. I think a combination of music from 1970s-2010s is smart, you don't want it to feel like you're playing the same song over and over again and you want to find some stuff to appeal to all ages.
