Wedding Songs

Courtney, on June 29, 2020 at 10:29 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 1 12
What was/is going to be your wedding first dance song? How did you choose it? My fiancé and I are having trouble deciding on a song and are running out of time to decide!

What songs did you use for your enterance and other dances of the night?

I used Gavin degraw’s “more than anyone” as our first dance.
We entered to a remixed version of “marry you” by Bruno Mars

Well it was going to be “perfect” by Ed Sheeran. Our first date was the day of the album drop 3/3/2017, and we drove around our little town listening to the album on repeat. And in one of the moments the song played, I knew we’d be dancing to it at our wedding. But the song absolutely blew up. And now we don’t want to be just another couple with that song. We also considered “how would you feel” by Ed sheeran from the same album. But I know that is also used at a lot of weddings. So we still haven’t decided. But our last dance will be “You Are the Best Thing”

We used "Better Together" by Luke Combs. We both love him and have gone to lots of his concerts together. He posted a 15 second clip of it on Instagram probably 6 months before our wedding and we kept waiting and waiting for it to come out. Around a month before our wedding we decided it was time to pick something else and as soon as we did, two weeks before our wedding, he released the Instagram song and we fell in love. I'm pretty sure it's going to be one of those super popular overused first dance songs but I couldn't care less.

Not sure if you mean your entrance into the ceremony or the reception, but here are the other songs we used.

Bridal party processional - Prayed For You (acoustic) by Matt Stell

Bride processional - Can't Help Falling In Love (instrumental) by The Piano Guys

Recessional - This Is It by Scotty McCreery

Reception Entrance - Bring Em Out by T.I.

No clue! We have so many songs from the beginning of our relationship; there are 2 songs by Angus & Julia Stone, 1-2 songs by The Weepies, and there’s even a song by The Cure FH wants...I’m so torn on just one.

We’re using “I Swear” by John Michael Montgomery for our first dance. I honestly went through amazon music and listened to a variety of love songs that reminded me of us and made him pick from the list. Otherwise, we still wouldn’t have picked anything. But songs for everything are kind of my last small details to iron out. We’re getting married November 21st so I’ve got about 4 months left.

Look at you girl by Chris Ledoux. As soon as I heard it i knew it was the one. The keeper of the stars by Tracy Bryd is also very good!

Our first dance song was “Hey Pretty Girl” by Kip Moore. I knew it would be the first dance song at my wedding the second I heard it, long before I even met my husband!

We got married in a small, 10-person ceremony and had a mini reception at our house after, so the only song was our first dance song. Hopefully the world cooperates so we can have our big reception next summer! If it does, our entrance song will be “A Whole New World” from Aladdin! I also REALLY want to play Brad Paisley’s “Waitin’ on a Woman” for that short period when my husband is standing there waiting before I walk down the aisle.

Choose something that has meaning to you or can relate to. Maybe something that embodies your relationship.

For my walk I might do Best Part by Daniel Caesar and H.E.R. or Better Place by Rachel Platten. Our exit we talked about Electric Love by Borns. First dance we're currently thinking Heaven by Kane Brown (love him ❤).
We dont have our entire playlist yet but we'll definitely have reggae and reggateon since my family is from Central America.

We used a whole new world from the newer Aladdin movie. We changed our song 5 times. We settled on this song after seeing the movie. I made the comment of how this song would be perfect and has a great vibe to it and my fh said he was thinking the same thing.

For the aisle walk I used from this moment/your still the one by Caleb and Kelsey.

For our first dance we are using:
“I Don’t Dance” by Lee Brice (FH is in a wheelchair and he loves this song)

For our last dance we are using:“Save the Best for Last” by Vanessa Williams
Our reception entrance will be:“Hooked on a Feeling” by Blue Swede

We entered to the Star Trek TNG theme (that's DH's nerd, and I enjoy it, but I'm a Potterhead... which is why I walked down the aisle to Hogwarts' Hymn).

Our fist dance was to Elton John's "Your Song".

I'm not particularly good at music, so DH was mostly in charge of that.
