Wedding Site Url Name?

Nicole, on September 10, 2014 at 4:47 PM Posted in Planning 0 7

So I'm working on our wedding page. We'll be putting it on our invitations so that people can RSVP online and we're going to be ordering our invites in a couple days. Problem is, I haven't chosen a URL yet and I don't know what to name it! I know most people put their two names, either first or last, but is that a must or can it be anything? I haven't found any with anything other than names, it just seems so boring and simple to do that. Anyone else make theirs something unique or is that not appropriate?

I don't think that it's inappropriate... you could do something like "Nicoleand(FHname)superawesomewedding.com" or something like that? it'd be cool, I'm not doing it because my wedding website's from the knot.

Well we're using Wedding Wire, but it will be "weddingwire.com/????" I'm not sure what to put where the question marks are haha, unless we just use our names like I've seen everyone else do.

We did name, just so I would be easy for guests to remember, and hopefully they'd want to go to (since they can't copy and paste from an invite). What are your ideas for something other than names that you have in mind?

Don't make it too long b/c it makes it hard for guests to remember (and/or spell). I would suggest something short and simple that guests can remember without referring to your invitation.

I really didn't have anything specific in mind. It would be related to us, of course, but we just started the page and I didn't realize we'd have to order our invites this weekend so now I'm in a rush to choose a URL! Maybe I'll just make it simple with our names. In that case, does it matter if it's my name or his that goes first? I've seen both, so I'm guessing it doesn't really matter lol.
