Wedding Signs

Brittany, on October 17, 2019 at 8:42 PM Posted in Planning 2 24
What did everyone do for your wedding signs? There are so many options out there! Custom made signs from Etsy, for example, are very cute but so expensive. Then there’s the digital download route which seems like a great option but confuses/overwhelms me for some reason! Don’t know where to print them and what to print them on.....Then there are decals! I’m not very crafty so I don’t know about that route. Help!

I bought digital downloads from Etsy for my welcome sign and seating chart. The designs through the website Templett are very easy to customize. I had the final products printed on foam boards at Staples.

We made most of ours with canva. I did Buy some on Etsy. You have to really look around to find a good deal but it’s possible.

We gave in an bought a cricut and I couldn’t be happier with being able to do our own signs. Plus FH is handy with the toolset! Here’s a few we’ve made!

FedEx will be able to print snubbing you need. If you want your prints to be up without a frame, you’ll want them printed on foam core. I usually take my file in on a flash drive and talk through what I want with them in person.

In my city I found a calligraphy artist that rents acrylic signs, she uses a kind of paint marker that she can wash off and re-use the acrylic. I rented acrylic table numbers, card box, welcome sign, seating chart and bar sign for $230 all personalized the way I wanted. See if someone in your town does this! If I had professional pics back I’d post them!

I just found templates online and printed mine on card stock and put them in frames but those were just smaller desk signs. For larger ones I went to a printing place.

I purchased digital ones from Etsy then had them printed through VistaPrint. I am not crafty so I figured that was the easiest option.

I have attached them. The rest of the signs we had my decorator make using her cricut, but she couldn't do the larger ones which is why I bought them through Etsy then had them printed through VistaPrint.

Ok first step, take a deep breath and relax! Haha. I know, easier said than done. There are so many options with every aspect of wedding planning and it very quickly becomes overwhelming! First thing you need to decide is what kind of signs you want and how many. I had several throughout my wedding, 2 at the ceremony (one about it being unplugged and one about picking a seat not a side). I had a wooden sign I bought from Etsy to display at my reception. I also had signs for my signature drinks, hashtag and one with Song of Solomon. I bought the digital images from Etsy and had some printed at Office Depot. Others I printed myself on shimmery cardstock and I framed them all in nice frames to match the colors and theme of my wedding.

I'd recommend looking on Etsy or Pinterest and first figuring out how many signs you want and what you want them to say (do you want a welcome sign at the ceremony, or if you have signature drinks a sign saying what they are, maybe a hashtag sign, there's lots of options). You can print some yourself, have them printed somewhere (Office Depot, Wal-Mart, Vista Print, etc.), or buy signs already made. You can also buy decals and put them on wood or mirrors or a picture frame (like pictured above).

Maybe check out Facebook marketplace or search for wedding decor groups. People oftentimes post stuff they've used and don't want anymore and you can get good deals there!

Haha! Actually my FH bought it for me as my "birthday" present... he has actually mastered it and I am just the transfer paper holder! Needless to say, he felt guilty and I got something else for my birthday!

Those are great!! Do you remember what size you did? The size I’m looking at on Vistaprint is 22x28 but none of the Etsy templates come in that size! I feel like the next size down, 18x24 will be too small!

They were 22 x 28. I asked the seller on Etsy if she could make the templates 22 x 28 and she said it was no problem. I have included a link to the seller I got my templates through. She was amazing.
