Wedding Shuttle Transport in CT (New Haven)?

Bronwen, on January 5, 2016 at 9:25 AM Posted in Planning 0 11

Hi - does anyone have any recommendations for wedding transportation (bus(es) and car for bridal party)? I'm still waiting to hear back from a few companies but they quotes I've received so far are outrageous.

I live on the other side of the state, but Limos are expensive, and they expect you to have them for some time. The minimum I've seen is 4 hour rentals. When all you want is to be transported to the wedding, to the reception and then the hotel... (at most) I wouldn't want them to get paid to sit around and wait.

Anyway, If your looking to hire somebody, your looking at a big expense. Maybe look for somebody to hire to drive you with a classic rag top car? Craigs list? or go to some of the car shows?

Hey, I see you're getting married the day before me, in New Haven. I was just about to tackle this today. What do you consider outrageous, and who have you contacted so far (so I can cross them off my list).

Well - we were hoping to get 2 buses to take guests from the hotel in Orange/Milford to Anthony's Ocean View and then back again at midnight...$1500 a bus! I am not a fan of the school bus thing but I may need to look into it.

I would look into a school bus! I am also in CT and got one from 4:00 pm to 1 am for $700.

Yeah, school buses are the cheapest option for that. Still expensive, but cheaper relatively!

I used Dattco, they are based out of New Britain. They had the cheapest quote of all the characters companies I looked at. Our driver was awesome, we had a small shuttle bus with multiple trips. We saved money by using the same bus for bridal party transportation, and transportation from the hotel to venue for guests. They just did multiple trips. However our venue was much closer to the hotel. We had the bus for unlimited trips for 8 hours for $875 including tip.

Most of the companies in ct are expensive.....alternatives can be school buses, datco buses or ask around there are tons of people in town with classic beautiful cars that would be willing to work out a deal. we had a friend who has multiple military vehicles help us out and it cost next to nothing, it gave him an oppurtunity to show off his deuce and a half lol

I got a very reasonable price from Gateway Limo. At least, reasonable compared to what you were quoted, I don't know what your budget is.

We are doing a school bus and it's only going to run us $500 for 8-9 hours. Sure they aren't fancy, but people will be, or at least should be happy that they're getting free transportation, even if it's not luxurious.
