Are these required? Any good, relatively inexpensive ideas?

I think favors should always be done as a thank you to your guests. But I know many people who think they aren't necessary. So it's reall up to you to decide.

They aren't required. I'm not doing them. The reception is the thank you for your guests.

If you do choose to do them, pick something edible. Personalized favors are most likely to get left behind. Edibles are the least likely.

But again, they're not necessary and they can be an added expense.

This seems like something the shower host should handle. Are you hosting your own shower?

I don't even think you need them for the actual wedding.

The best shower favor I recently got was a set of handmade cards for each guest. I've used them for thank you notes and other things.

When I was MOH I just bought nail polish with the wedding colors and wrapped them in tulle for everyone with a little ribbon. Everyone loved it.

Wedding favor idea - wine bottle stopper and wine glass “marker”For a beach wedding bridal shower, we did silicone flower wine bottle stoppers, in boxes, wrapped in a light turquoise matte foil-type paper and tied simple white bows. We made the “wine glass marker”below and attached to the bow. ( I’m sure there is another name for these! These go around the base of the wine glass stem so you don’t get your glass mixed up with someone else’s at a party.) Very easy to make, anyone can make these. Get earring hoops, charms and beads from a craft store. We used a variety of beachy themed silver charms - shells, seahorses, flip flops, etc. The only trick is to be sure you get beads with large enough holes to be able to thread them over the end of the earring hoop. Girls loved these! Especially the charms!Wedding shower favors 1
