Wedding Shoes

How soon/long did it take y'all to get your wedding shoes? To those that got heels, how long did it take to break them in or did you wear them fresh out the box?

I got them 10 months before the big day because you need them for your dress fittings

I got mine about 8 months before our original wedding date and had them at each fitting. I haven’t worn mine outside of the fittings, but they are only about 3.5 inch heels so I’m not worried about being uncomfortable lol

I found mine a couple months after I ordered my dress.

You can wear them with socks on in the house to break them in, but I’ve only worn mine during my fittings.

I got my shoes 8 months before the wedding to make sure I had them when I picked up my dress and have time to break them in before the wedding. I’m wearing wedges since we’re having an outdoor wedding and want to make sure I’m comfortable on the day.

Yep, they need to see how tall your shoes will be so they can hem the dress properly

I got my wedding heels the month after I found my dresses! For my ceremony, I'm wearing 4" stilettos by Kate Spade. FH is significantly taller than I am, so I wanted to add a little height for the ceremony lol. For my reception dress, I'm wearing 3" block heels because they're more comfortable to walk/dance in, and I'm used to walking in that style of heel!

I won't break in or practice walking in my reception heels since I know those won't be a problem, but I've been wearing my ceremony ones around the house just so I get a good feel of them!

My dress arrives in August & I just got my shoes. I started shopping right after I ordered my dress in March, so it took a while to find the right pair. Although my fittings won’t happen until early next year, I wanted to have them for my dress viewing as well. I opted for kitten heels because I’m pretty tall. I will probably start breaking them in a couple of months before the wedding using socks. That will also give me plenty of time to decide if I want to add gel inserts.

I got mine kinda late after I got my dress. They fit but I put them on for about an hour every so often and I store them with tennis balls in the front to keep them a little stretched.

I knew exactly what I wanted and so I bought the shoes before the dress. And I bought the dress 15 months out! The others are correct that you do need them for dress fittings. I do sometimes go and put them on and walk around on the carpet in them, but that's more of a joy of wearing them thing, not an attempt to wear them in. I already know they won't be that comfortable, so there's no point even trying, ya know?

Girl.... I am a shoe-a-holic I bought my shoes a whole year before my wedding on 4-22-2022.

I searched high and low for these Badgkey Mischka's from 2017 Light blue.....for my something blue and found them brand new never worn on Mercari. They are 3.5 inches. I bought another pair of Badgley Mischka's Royal Blue that are 4.5 inches. I am debating which ones to wear but both are sooo bomb. I'd say 3 or 3.5 inches is a good height and also comfortable. Block or wedge are comfortable. To break your shoes in they have these vamp extenders to stretch the front of your shoe if it's too tight or do the old fashion tennis ball inside your shoes. For all night comfort Dr Shoals Gel Inserts are great for the balls of your feet.
