Hi,

Does anyone have ant recommendations for comfy bridal shoes? I plan to wear heels, but do not wear them often.

If you are not used to heels, stay with flats. Or get a short heels. Espadrilles are comfy to me if you want to be a bit taller.

Block heels are great for those that don't wear heels often! They have more support for your heel and are more comfortable than stilettos or pumps!

What style is your wedding dress? If you are no use to be in heels all the time. You could probably switch between heels and flats for the day?

That is a great idea; however would this work with alterations and dress length?

What about wedge sandals / shoes with high platform? It will work with the dress length and still give you the comfy close to flats

Comfy will really depend on what you are used to and your foot shape. I personally do not find dressy flats comfortable. They nearly always pinch my feet in the wrong places and most don't offer much support. Many brides also like wearing sneakers like Converse or Keds as a "comfy" shoe option but Converse run so narrow that I cannot comfortably wear them at all.

I wore a short block heel (1.5") and was very happy with my shoe selection. A block heel or wedge will feel more stable than a skinny heel and a shorter heel (1-2.5") will give you a little lift and may actually be more comfortable than a completely flat shoe. Most shoes, including athletic sneakers, men's dress shoes, hiking boots, and ergonomic sandals like Chacos, have some "drop" to them with the heel being slightly higher than the toe (most orthotic insoles are also designed with a slight heel raise), so a short heel may actually feel more natural than a completely flat foot bed. I wear heels to dress up for special occasions but work as an athletic director and wear sneakers, boots, comfy flats, or sandals most of the time.

I'd recommend just trying on a variety of inexpensive shoes and finding ones that feel comfortable and fit your style. You don't have to spend a ton on wedding shoes, especially if you end up getting a style you won't wear again. My block heels cost $25 and I got them in a light nude color so they are very flattering, comfortable, and versatile, and I can wear them with other outfits.

Block heels (with the short chunky heel) are the easiest to walk in if you aren't used to heels. Wedges (the solid block of heel) are hit or miss for many people. You definitely need to try them on yourself to decide because everyone's feel are different. Zappos.com has a wide selection of wedding specific styles. But you can also find them at local bridal shops and shoe shops such as DSW or Famous Footwear.

If you’re aren’t use to heels I highly recommend a short block heel if you don’t want flats.

The seamstress will alter your dress to the height of your heels, assuming you keep them on the entire even. If you decide beforehand to take them off during the reception, the dress will be altered to you being barefoot so that you don't trip over the extra length.

Chunky heels are the best for the non heel wearer, I would suggest to wear them at home and indoors only. That way you could return them after you try them out for several minutes. Definitely buy with the dress length in mind. Amazon has made it amazingly easy to return items now. I shop them but I make sure to read most of the reviews first.

I'm wearing wedges and it was the best decision I ever made lol. They're still pretty but offer a lot of support.
