Wedding shoes

Need help finding comfortable wedding shoes. I had surgery on my ankle about a year ago so I definitely need something supportive and comfortable. Leaning towards wedding tennis shoes for this reason, either lace or sparkles. For those of you that wore the Kate Spade glitter Keds, were they comfortable?? I also am hoping to find some that have a little height/platform since I’m about 5’2 and he’s about 6’6, I need a little height if I can!

I plan on wearing bridal wedding tennis shoes too! Not for the same reason as you but we are going to be on our feet a lot during the day so I’m going for comfort! I just don’t want to spend a lot of $$$ for a pair of sneakers!!!

I used pretty heels for the photos and videos of “getting ready” and then actually wore platform sneakers for the rest of the day. They were comfortable and gave me height. No one could see my shoes under the dress anyway.

I get that! I don’t mind spending the money if I know they’ll be comfortable and supportive though in my case haha! I would much rather spend the money than hurt myself again or be so sore/swollen by the end of the night I can’t walk. I’ve been seeing some really cute ones online from Etsy but just don’t know if they’ll be supportive enough! It’s so hard lol

I wore Kate Spade Keds and they were super comfortable! I had them on for hours and never once thought about my feet lol. I did wear them around the house a few times to break them in though.

Thank you!! Did they run pretty true to size? I’ve seen online that people are ordering a size up I think?

They were true to size for me. I typically wear an 8 and that is what my KS Keds were. I even wore some thin no show socks and they still fit. Do you have a store nearby that sells them? I tried them on first at a local department store.

Keep in mind that a lot of the wedding sneakers that are popular (Converse, Toms, etc) aren't very supportive or designed with your foot geometry in mind - they are more casual/aesthetic sneakers than supportive or functional ones, and I have found those styles of sneaker all tend to run narrow and not be as comfortable for those with average to wider feet. I have not worn Keds, but imagine they are the same, with limited arch support and materials that don't really consider the geometry of your foot or help support or hold its shape. However, you could always replace the insoles of a sneaker like Keds, Converse, Toms, etc with orthotic insoles or something like Superfeet, to help actually support your foot.

I have flat feet, so anything other than a tennis show is a no go for me for long periods of time lol. I am wearing customized Converse! They are my go-to shoe! My FH and I will both have converse on and its special to us because we were going to do that for our Prom back in high school but it didn't match my dress color so we ended up not doing it. I'm so happy we are doing it now!

Kari has a great point!! I'd also search for comfy and cute sneakers by color (white, gold, silver, etc.) to broaden your choices!

The Knot also has a good round-up of affordable options:

I also live in tennis shoes and jeans! Our colors are navy and pewter so this is a cross between the bridesmaid dresses and the groomsmen suits😄
