Wedding Sendoff

Hey guys! So I feel like everybody end the wedding day with sparklers. What are some other unique ways to send off the bride and groom.

Here is an article I found when I was researching the same thing: https://www.theknot.com/content/amphtml/18-creative-exit-toss-ideas

I really like the glow stick idea, and the bubbles idea. There are lots of creative ideas out there though! Would love to see what everyone else comes up with.

We didn't actually do any type of send off. We had a last day with a cloud effect. The song started off with just the two of us then we had everyone join us on the dance floor. Afterwards those that wanted to joined us at a bar for an after-party.

Even though everyone does it, I feel like speakers are so pretty in photos lol.

We decided against sparklers because there was an extra clean up fee. I’m not sure what we will do now, but hopefully we figure out something creative that will also look good in photos!

We might do sparklers because it's included but I was also looking into colored smoke. If not for our send off then maybe our engagement photos.

We are doing flower petals. Ours is an outdoor venue so sparklers, confetti, etc isn’t allowed. Anything used has to be natural with no clean up. So flower petals it is!

We are doing our last dance and the will head to our double doors of the ballroom. Everyone will gather around and we (bride and groom) will throw the bouquet and garter into the crowd at the same time. (we didn’t want to do the tradition toss because we don’t have many single guests). Our photographer will be outside the double doors looking in to get some great shots.

Our venue is the same hotel we will spend the night in so we will leave from the ballroom and go to our room and we are not allowed sparklers, confetti, rice or petals to throw and since we weren’t getting into a car this was a great option that the venue suggested.

Our wedding planner doesn’t allow sparklers in her contract. She got injured from one at a wedding send off. I’m from New Orleans so we will end the night with a second line. We will have everyone waving a handkerchief while my fiancé and I walk through with our umbrellas 🙂

Bubbles, fresh rose petals (they are biodegradable so nature cleans them up), lavender are all lovely for a daytime wedding. Real fall leaves or biodegradable fake snow would be beautiful for a seasonal theme. Glowsticks would be cool after dark. The smoke bombs look great!

While they are biodegradable, rice and birdseed hurt like crazy even when a guest gets hit.

I'm not sure why sparklers would require extra cleanup? You just dispose of them in a metal bin afterward.

We just had a last song from a Broadway show (we're actors), sang/danced it all together, and then everyone said goodbye.

Send-offs are fun, but not required, if you can't find one you like.

We aren't allowed to have sparklers/open flame at our venue, and because we are such nerds we are having a "lightsaber" (jumbo glow sticks!) send off!! We met because of star wars so we thought that would be the perfect way to end our wedding! Plus it's a great party favor!
