Wedding ring vent

Allaura, on March 1, 2022 at 12:01 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 13
So just here to vent about how frustrating finding a wedding ring has been. I honestly knew it would be difficult but I didn’t think it would be this hard! Making sure it’s authentic, it’ll fit my finger and I like it has been such a task! I think maybe I need to take a break from actively looking for a little bit. Ugh.

I would go to a reputable, local jeweler and see what they have. They can also custom-make a ring for you if you have something specific in mind. The jeweler should also be able to order a ring in your correct size from the manufacturer if they are unable to resize the one in stock (stock size is usually size 7).

Not sure why it's so hard for you to find a ring. You can custom make one if nothing already made is what you want.

I’m looking for a specific Native American style silver ring and right now a lot of silversmiths aren’t making jewelry because silver is expensive. With the pandemic a lot of artists went back to their day jobs to provide for their families. Unfortunately it’s not something I’m going to find at Jared or somewhere like that. Which sucks but is what it is since this is a “must have” for me.

Is it something that you could commission an artist to make for you since you have quite a bit of time? Obviously it will be expensive, but maybe if you go to them expecting that it would be a side project and aren't requiring it quickly they would be open to making some extra money on the side?

My trouble is finding an artist that is authentic and is highly recommended. My mom and cousins all had a family member make their wedding rings and unfortunately he passed away before my turn. Paying an artist isn’t a problem because like I said this is a “must have” so it’s been in the budget since the beginning. The trouble is finding an artist. Im hoping to go to a couple gatherings and festivals in the next couple of weekends, this has just been so much harder than I thought it would be.

Oh girl I hear yah! My fiancé didn’t know that engagement rings and wedding rings were two different rings. So now I either go without a wedding band or find something to fit my engagement ring. Wedding ring vent 1

Interesting that you're looking for a silversmith! Where are the festivals and events you're thinking about going to? You know, sometimes you can find authentic silver at gift shops that are near mines that are in the states.

My bf brought me to a mine nearby my city and the family who owned the mine had quite the collection of jewelry that's handmade and with authentic stones et cetera. You should consider looking for jewelry where geology nerds and mineralogists like to find rocks, too. (JUST SAYIN' - I was a former geology student!)

Silver is a tough one but depends on where you're looking too! Are you near the Southwest parts of the U.S. and such? Remember, there's always Etsy and sometimes Etsy sellers are also sellers in-person, or have physical shops you can visit.

It is a tough choice, because this is THE ring that represents your marriage. There are so many options out there. I learned from my mistake of an Etsy ring for my engagement ring… so whatever you choose, as far as engagement or wedding ring- do lots of research and find the place that reflects what you want out of your ring!

We got my engagement ring and wedding band from The True Gem Company based out of Dallas! They’re a boutique jeweler, and the quality is so good! They only do lab-grown gems and stones (including diamonds) for environmental reasons, but they can make custom rings as well! Highly recommend checking them out, and they’re very active on IG as well!

Luckily for me since my engagement ring is from a local jeweler, my fiancé was shown the “matching” wedding band to the engagement ring he bought me upfront and really liked it. Obviously I can pick a different ring if I want but I really like and have since tried on the one he loved as well. I hope you’ll be able to find the ring you love! Reading all your replies I see it’s not as generic as just getting a ring from anywhere but I hope it works out!

Hahahahaha! Ahh okay! You’re in the perfect place! I hope you find your dream ring then. Do you think you’ll have a placeholder in case you don’t find the right ring in time or the ring MUST be there for the ceremony to happen?

Let us know when you find it! For what it’s worth, it’ll make for a great story down the road.

I probably won’t use a placeholder. We will probably just skip exchanging rings if I can find anything Smiley smile
